Re: Bardsley
His football agent brother, Josh Bardsley, was hit over the head with a pair of beach shoes by a screaming blonde.
Re: Bardsley
Where's the mass brawl? And which one is supposed to be Bardsley? Looks like fake news to me!

Re: Bardsley
That's abysmal. A few blokes and their expensive looking women getting a bit lairy after, presumably, a long night out. Who'd a thought it ?

Re: Bardsley
Anyone who follows Bardsley on Instagram will be well aware that he and a number of those named were celebrating Cleverley’s birthday this last week, so that’s the back drop to this story written for them. As for the video, I can’t make a single person out on it, all I saw was a chair being thrown and lots of shouting and, presumably, swearing.
Alcohol and no doubt a reasonable amount of obnoxious behaviour amongst all present will inevitably result in heated arguments. I see no evidence here that Phil Bardsley was involved in a ‘brawl’ as I can’t see either him or a brawl in that video.
But hey-ho, the number of clicks they will have achieved today will be worth every word written and every penny paid for that video.

I never get this thing where (Burnley) footballers are expected to be paragons of virtue. They are just like the rest of society, some good, some not so..

Re: Bardsley
I don't think it works like that. We buy tickets to watch the games. We take our sons/daughters/nephews/nieces onto the games. The children often look up to these footballers. If Messi did a unique celebration, as the best footballer on the planet, the following day he'd have school children doing the same celebration.boatshed bill wrote:I never get this thing where (Burnley) footballers are expected to be paragons of virtue. Re: Bardsley
What a crock... they’ve just used the biggest name as a hard man and made it about him. Clearly the body of the article makes it pretty obvious that Phil wasn’t involved. Bruce as peacemaker??? REALLY ? he’s changed a bit.

And I agree with you on that. But they SHOULD be expected to act in a certain way. You suggested that they should be allowed to be themselves as a human being, but I don't go with that thinking. They have a responsibility.boatshed bill wrote:Whilst I agree with you , Frank, the fact remains that not all professional footballers are cut out to be role models.

Re: Bardsley
What I found interesting was the camera bloke, or someone near him, saying "his name is Josh, remember that" for when we ring the papers to sell the story (presumably).
The difference between us and public figures is that when they do something that could be newspaper material the first thought that goes through the heads of a lot of people is Kerching! (nice little earner).
Respecting the privacy of public figures ( in the case of non events that mirror a regular night out ) or debating the ethical nature of the actual event before distributing the footage is rarely considered.
I recall pictures of Joe Hart from a week or so ago, holding a bottle of vodka, and looking a bit worse for wear. And so it becomes a news item, even though the majority of people in the club were holding drinks and looking a little bit shaky on their feet - because that is what people generally do in a night club.
The bigger story is the mercantile nature of these snap happy chumps, some of whom would rather stand back and film events of a more tragic nature than stepping in to help or placing humanity before greed.
Personally, I prefer the protocol of countries like Japan were taking a persons picture without asking for permission is not permitted.

Re: Bardsley
What are beach shoes exactly?
A picture of those would have been nice to add some context to the story. Are we talking flippers, flip flops, sandals, water shoes, wellingtons or hob nail boots?
Would these be suitable for a screaming blonde?
