New Kit Launch
Re: New Kit Launch
The kit is hideous with and without the sponsorship.
The design is low quality, I was looking forward to seeing what umbro produced because West Ham always have nice kits but ours is terrible really disappointed in it. Hopefully the 2nd and 3rd is better

You can pre-order online now.

Like most - actually all - shirts, it'd be better with no sponsor. I like it otherwise

Talking about for me and I’m the same size and weight as when I played for Junior Clarets. I’m 48 So there aren’t many that can cay that ( though I’ll admit I’ve shifted 7 inch from my max belt line)Burnley1989 wrote:Put them on a diet

Gambling promotion; I won’t be buying it, despite thinking it’s a cracking design. I’d pay for a sponsorless one but hey, not to be!

Whenever I’ve not liked a current kit, I’ve always bought one of the retro ones at the Club Shop, instead.

Why I’m asking what size does child go up to I’m the same size now as when I played for Junior Clarets.... so presumably they have a kids (sponsorless ) shirt to fit me.jdrobbo wrote:Gambling promotion; I won’t be buying it, despite thinking it’s a cracking design. You have very strong opinions on gambling; what is your view of BFC effectively being saved by Barry Kilby and his money which he made through his gambling business?jdrobbo wrote:Gambling promotion; I won’t be buying it, despite thinking it’s a cracking design. If we were sponsored by Ladbrokes, William Hill or Coral, no one would really care. It’s because it’s got that foreign muck on the front.
It’s just a shirt.

Yes, it spoils it massively, although I wouldn't go as far as saying 'foreign muck'.
It's just a shirt, it's just a ground, it's just a player, it's just a club.
It's just shite.

I remember Burnley turning down an good offer from Time Computers at a time they were sponsoring wovers because it meant defacing the shirt with their logo... wish we felt the same now.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Yes, it spoils it massively, although I wouldn't go as far as saying 'foreign muck'.

Interesting that Heaton has modelled the keepers' kit. Players supposedly on their way out don't usually do this.

There’s a market for gambling. But I also agree with a lot of the sentiments against it.

Its not very good is it?
I liked the black away from last year , hoping for some better options.
I agree it would be a lot better if you could buy a shirt without the sponsor on it, the club should give this option and take a bit less money, perhaps they would sell more shirts.

Glad Wood has the number 9 squad number, goes with his branding, goal celebration etc, a little thing that could make a small difference.

I could be wrong (I often am) but I understood Kilby made his money through Europrint which manufactured scratch cards which, among other things, were put in weekend tabloid newspapers as freebies.TheFamilyCat wrote:You have very strong opinions on gambling; what is your view of BFC effectively being saved by Barry Kilby and his money which he made through his gambling business?
It may well be possible that Europrint had the contract for other scratch card games, perhaps for the National Lottery and possibly for other lotteries around the world. But there’s a difference between being a printer and being a publisher. To put Europrint on a par with Bet365, Paddy Power, LoveBet and the like is akin to blaming the printing industry for the production of pornographic magazines.

No, it's the printer's job to print it to a design commissioned by the client.
Gambling advertisements are created by advertising agencies to a brief set by the client.
It's all about the client. They commission, they pay, they advertise, they make profits, they ruin lives.

With Wood wearing 9, it would've been nice to see McNeil with the number 11 shirt.

If this is in regards to BK his firms money came from inventing bingo type scratch cards/ lottery. They didn’t print them “for” the papers until BK sold the company... they owned the newspaper game cards, not the newspaper companies.deanothedino wrote:It's the printers job to make it pretty and eye catching, much like gambling advertisements.

Yes, so Barry Kilby owned a firm related to gambling. You're arguing over how I phrased my original message. I never said they didn't come up with the games, I said they printed them and it was for them to make them pretty and eye catching so that people would play them, much like gambling advertisements. No?

Re: New Kit Launch
That’s a bit unfair. Gambling can wreck lives, including the lives of the families of addicts. The extent to which it’s promoted these days is absolutely disgusting. I hate the links that Burnley FC has with gambling companies and the way sport in general is linked with gambling. I hate the way gambling ads saturate the media. Even things like bingo and the lottery.TheFamilyCat wrote:You have very strong opinions on gambling; what is your view of BFC effectively being saved by Barry Kilby and his money which he made through his gambling business?
