Man City Fans get new identity
Man City Fans get new identity
Man City have Puma shirts, this season.
Evidently, their fans have concluded that they are Burnley shirts!
Lucky them, to be so honoured, by copying such a historic club!

They don’t look anything like a Burnley kit?
£90 as well.
£90 as well.

Their home one does like look like it could be our away kitBordeauxclaret wrote:They don’t look anything like a Burnley kit?

Re: Man City Fans get new identity
The cynic in me sees this as conflicting with at least 3 claret and blue teams next season, necessitating the need for a third or fourth kit and of course resulting in more shirt sales
But that's just my view

But their away kit is black, no need for a third kit for claret and blue teams.tarkys_ears wrote:The cynic in me sees this as conflicting with at least 3 claret and blue teams next season, necessitating the need for a third or fourth kit and of course resulting in more shirt sales

Re: Man City Fans get new identity
It's only £90 for the very same shirt the players wear. Otherwise it's about £50.Bordeauxclaret wrote:They don’t look anything like a Burnley kit?

Re: Man City Fans get new identity
I suppose that picture looks as though the panel on the shoulder is claret, as well as the sponsor and the bits on the socks, which would look like a Burnley away shirt. There are some better pictures that show these bits are dark blue, so it'd not much like anything we've had reallyMarkGreen wrote:Their home one does like look like it could be our away kit
Edit - Ignore all of that, I'm talking ********...It is claret

The panels are described as ‘purple’ so reasonably close to claret.Chuckypad wrote:I suppose that picture looks as though the panel on the shoulder is claret, as well as the sponsor and the bits on the socks, which would look like a Burnley away shirt. I might be a bit out of touch on this but what’s the difference between the £50 and £90 shirts?

I think it's the material and the fit that's a bit different but that's about it.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Ah right, only saw the £90 ones.

Nike did it with the England kit and a few clubs followed suit.
Think of it like the replica match balls you can buy. You can have replica ones for £20 but if you want the same ball they use in games it's £100+. Look exactly the same to most people but there are tiny subtle differences.
As far as our kit goes I'll wait until it's £20 at Christmas/Easter.

Re: Man City Fans get new identity
I think the sponsors logo has a huge impact on the look of the shirt. That city one looks great but stick the big chinese lovebet thing on and it would look just as bad as ours.

How come our sponsor logo is allowed to engulf the front of our shirt? Thought there were limitations.
Is it Qatar that own Man City? Claret variant is their colour. Should have bought Burnley!

Our indoor 5 a side team in the 80's had almost the same kit. Closet we could get to Burnley kit for what we could afford.
