Ken Bruce played "Driver's Seat" by Sniff and the Tears
today in the middle of Popmaster. Not heard it for years.
Great little ditty. Turned it up loud.

Did you know that when you turn the volume up it changes the character of the music as different frequencies will sound relatively louder or quieter:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal-lou ... easurement" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
On the graph, looking at the red lines, if you listen at 60dB (left axis), just above 1000 Hz (bottom axis) will have a loudness of 60 phons but for 100Hz sound the same level of 60 phons requires it to be about 78dB. If you turn up the volume to 80dB for 1000Hz, it requires 92dB for 100Hz to sound the same level. So 1000Hz has gone up 20dB whilst 100Hz has only needed an increase of 14dB to sound the same level.
In other words, if you turn the volume up 20dB all across the frequency range, the bass sounds will sound relatively louder. Which is my experience anyway.
Fascinating isn't it.
Anyway, I currently like this song at a whole range of loudnesses:

Or for something a bit more lively:
