Poor old Rafa... treated abysmally by that rogue Ashley and driven out of the club and away from the fans he loved so much.So glad he's managed to find a £12m a year job on the other side of the world within a few days...

Trouble is, an hour and a half later, you want another club.

At least he’ll earn even more cash. Can’t say I will be looking out for their results though.

£230,769 a week, if the quoted figure of 12 mil a year is correct.Blackrod wrote:At least he’ll earn even more cash

Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
So everything he wrote in that little attention/sympathy seeking letter the other day was crap?
Well I'm stunned that he chucked up the smokescreen whilst he was signing up for a club on the other side of the world.
Good to know the Chinese club will match his ambitions /wage demands.

Awesome manager and far superior to Dyche on every level despite what some say on here.

The Chinese side of things all explained here - part of the masterplan to improve chinese football and increase it's Soft Power position they re also considering bidding for the 2030 World Cup and will want to make a decent show on the pitch in front of the world

Do you not think Dyche has achieved far more with Burnley than Benítez has with Newcastle despite us spending considerably less on transfers and wages?Right_winger wrote:Awesome manager and far superior to Dyche on every level despite what some say on here.

Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
Was on the radio last night that he asked Newcastle for 9.8 million a year which is more than Klopp and Poch earn. Fair play to Ashley I reckon

Shame we have lost him to a far inferior league, can see them struggling without him, bet Ashley is a nightmare to work for, unbelievably tight with money, Rafa did a good job for them.

Although to be fair, Rafa did a great job in convincing the world that Newcastle surviving in the Premier league was one of the greatest ever achievements in sport!Giftonsnoidea wrote:Shame we have lost him to a far inferior league, can see them struggling without him, bet Ashley is a nightmare to work for, unbelievably tight with money, Rafa did a good job for them.

To be fair to him I think there was a graphic on sky sports which said his net spend was 0, some achievement I would say.
Total lack of investment up there

Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
He is a mercenary but Rafa for me is the exception to the general rule.
He is a gentleman, and a bloody good football manager and tactician, it is not accidental Newcastle have a decent record against us... he’s been ready for us every time he has played us, whatever level and whatever else was going on.
One mercenary I’m sorry we’re losing to our game, at least for now.

Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
Good bit of news, could make our difficult job this season a little bit easier.
Well done Ashley, now take off the tin foil hat so I can transmit telepathic messages about signing Mark Hughes and ignoring the surprise availablility of Chris Hughton ( notch up another victim of the TD's and their egotistical Head Coach nonsense ).

It was always about the money.Winged from day one at the Toon because he could get funds.
Inherited a decent team that any half good manager would have done well with

One person I would be very surprised to see at Newcastle any time soon is Chris Hughton.Long Time Lurker wrote:Good bit of news, could make our difficult job this season a little bit easier.

Out of interest how many of Newcastle's team do you think would get into our first 11?Spijed wrote:Still had a very good squad of players though.
Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
Not quite true as Newcastle manager. We took four points off them quite easily when we finished 7th. Obviously they won both games last season, so that 6 pts to them and 4 to us. Hardly a tactical genius.elwaclaret wrote:he’s been ready for us every time he has played us

Would it not be 7 pts to them or did they not get one for the draw the other year?

Re: Rafa Goes For A Chinese
Yes because he’s used his vast network of contacts to create the team. He’s done some fantastic business in Europe. Signings we could only dream of hearing on the grapevine. They were a total crock first time we played them, his pure tactical nouse enabled them to live with us. I think his record up there matches anything he achieved before, and there are not many managers I would say that about, let alone his record. It was his team and bore very little relation to that of previous coaches. It did what it had to do when for the entire duration of his time there.Spijed wrote:Still had a very good squad of players though.

HIs team is starting to brreak up with Rondon not being signed as their fans expected and Perez is now on his way to Leicester for £30 million according to local reports. Fans are up in arms and yet, twelve months ago. Perez could do no right!
Life is interesting up these parts with the Toon saga continuing.
