Re: England v USA
So FIFA class that as a clear and obvious error by the assistant? What actually does clear and obvious mean?

So bloody close that.
Re: England v USA
VAR is a joke. Bits of Cameroon foot the other match, now the end of a tit or something! That's not football.

Bugger
Re: England v USA
Used to be a slide rule pass. Now it is a slide rule for offside.

Re: England v USA
Offside isn't a subjective ruling so i'm not sure the "clear and obvious" principle applies, and if it does it shouldn't. We want the assistants to allow marginal decisions to proceed to reduce the risk of offside calls being made incorrectly. So we can't really complain when a marginal decision is left to proceed and then turn out that it was offside.thelaughingclaret wrote:So FIFA class that as a clear and obvious error? This is one aspect of VAR that surely we cal all agree on? The end of assistants having to guess regarding marginal offsides.

Perfect illustration of why it will be a nightmare. Fans will have a completely different perception and opinion of VAR decisions depending on if it goes for or against themChester Perry wrote:Same distance offside that Wood was onside at Watford - did you want VAR then

Re: England v USA
Bad miss. She’s been so clinical, should’ve buried it.
Edit: penalty. VAR takes far too long and again I think that’s the wrong decision. Very, very soft but I don’t think the other goal should’ve been ruled out for offside. Justice perhaps? No. Missed penalty. Why didn’t white take it? Why have a centre half take a pen?

Have to give that. Innocuous and unintentional Co tact but it's with her shooting foot, seven yards fro. Goal.

Tough call for the officials this one
Re: England v USA
That should be a pen. Slight touch but it effected her swing

Re: England v USA
That's definitely a foul. It's minimal contact but it's enough to prevent the shot in that situation.

Think some of the 'Handball' VAR decisions have been far more dubious than that one.

Awful pen
Re: England v USA
Justice done, never a penalty in all this world.
Re: England v USA
That takes the VAR biscuit!
Speechless.
Two VARs don't make a goal....especially if it's an England penalty!
Weakest penalty takers in the world!
