Tag help!
So whilst travelling up the A1, I popped into American Golf and bought some new trousers. Got home and realised the security tag/pin is still in them....
Now I don’t live near any American Golf so can’t pop in with the receipt. Any ideas how to get it off without trashing the trousers? Seems to be a standard ‘pin into larger tag’ system. No weird paint etc.

Most are usually separated by a magnet, which is on the sales counter.
Failing that a pair of pliers is the favourite tool of choice by shoplifters.

Failing that, have a shopping trip and look for a store that uses the same system. Having found one politely explain your problem, appeal to the good nature of the shop assistant and ask them to remove it. I hazzard to guess that American Golf don't have a super exclusive system.

Re: Tag help!
I bought a jacket earlier in the year and wore it for two weeks before I noticed the tag was still on it (discreetly positioned under the armpit). Fortunately on the day I noticed, I was going into town and could pop into the shop I bought it from.

Honestly thought it was common knowledge about the pliers, but maybe it's just the social circle I keep.box_of_frogs wrote:Excellent knowledge......
I have worked in retail for a number of years on and off though.

Re: Tag help!
Take it to any Tesco or Asda and just explain they will remove it.

Re: Tag help!
This is true, but they may ask to see the receipt. My son bought an item in London recently and found a tag had been missed when he got home, but Tesco took it off for him, even though it was bought from a small independent shop and not from them.Steve1956 wrote:Take it to any Tesco or Asda and just explain they will remove it.
Re: Tag help!
Pliers always got the tag off my leg when I was at home on bail.
