Re: Jagielka
I just assumed, perhaps wrongly, that he’d end up back at Sheffield United.

Re: Jagielka
Don’t know but wouldn’t be over worrying if he was. Most clubs provide alternative training locations to uncontracted players of a decent level. Not sure where Jagielka lives but somewhere like the Ribble Valley would make sense to me.BOYSIE31 wrote:Any truth that he is training with us

No surprise in the slightest. Plus he ticks all the character boxes that Dyche insists upon.

Re: Jagielka
Selling or sending Gibson out on loan and getting Jagielka in would be even more stupid then selling Vokes and bringing Crouch in. I really hope there is nothing at all in any of this but it really would not surprise me at all.
Re: Jagielka
He didn’t play for Tony Pulis Stoke in 1914 so I wouldn’t worry about it

Re: Jagielka
Not aware of it but players looking for new clubs will find somewhere to train. When we cancelled Grezza’s contract in 2011 he trained with Bolton for a while in pre-season and a year ago Marney was training somewhere else until he moved to Fleetwood.
Definitely haven’t seen Jagielka on any pics - Jimmy Dunne is there though.

Nor me but equally it may be a way of our lads picking the brain of what has been a fantastic defender. Not many better roll models to be training with the lads, as far as I can remember.thelaughingclaret wrote:Selling or sending Gibson out on loan and getting Jagielka in would be even more stupid then selling Vokes and bringing Crouch in. Re: Jagielka
I think we've got the idea with the 'Devil's Advocate ' routine now...
Re: Jagielka
Might be under the pretense of staying fit right now, but as soon as Tarkowski or Gibson leaves we'll announce he's signed on a one year deal. Then we'll make all the right noises about still looking for a proper replacement, but eventually succumb to the inflated market.
We'll then line up with Jagielka and Mee against Southampton.
Just joking of course, I hope

It's great that he is training with us. An experienced pro and a new face on the training ground can only help and add interest to what is , probably, the most boring part of being a footballer, pre season training.

Re: Jagielka
Some of us have seen far worse transfer policies adopted by the club, than the one in place now. We remember when trade downs were expected rather than dreaded. I’m all for him training with the lads, and trust should he be offered a contract it will be in the best interests of Burnley. I just don’t expect that To happen.ksrclaret wrote:Might be under the pretense of staying fit right now, but as soon as Tarkowski or Gibson leaves we'll announce he's signed on a one year deal. Re: Jagielka
If we’re signing jagielka it must mean one of our cb’s is on his way
Re: Jagielka
As cover wouldn't be the worst signing in the world. People need to accept that good players in their prime aren't going to be willing to sit on our bench and play 3 cup games a season. Gibson is the perfect example.

I think the words "has been" is all we need to say.
Re: Jagielka
Another good one to have in the changing rooms. Its getting rather like the Manchester Comedy Club these days FFS.
Re: Jagielka
If we sign him and allow a CB to leave I'll have to question if Dyche is having a melt down.

It’s the strength of our dressing room that has got us where we are, make no mistake about that.bfcjg wrote:Another good one to have in the changing rooms. Its getting rather like the Manchester Comedy Club these days FFS.

Re: Jagielka
I'd be more than happy to see Jags as a replacement for Tarks if its a one or two season max thing.
Tarks is decent, but he's no Jagielka.

Re: Jagielka
This will be UTC happy clapper gold. Was criticised as rubbish and past it a fair bit on here over last 12 months on topics about Keane and then hey presto if he signs he will suddenly be still a top player and a great signing with loads to offer
At least this will bring a bit of entertainment to the transfer threads
Edit: If he was to be signed obviously which Im pretty sure he wont. Would be fun though

Re: Jagielka
I’m trying to recall who they were but we had a couple of players training with us initially last summer in the same circumstances
Re: Jagielka
There is a certain amount of dissatisfaction with the people who have taken Burnley to this position. If only we had had better men at the helm!
Still, I suppose it's a good sign if you have to complain about fiction. Not enough facts to whinge about, I suppose.

If Sean thinks he could do a season and Tarks leaves then as a bench warmer with Long he could fill a role for a year or so assuming Dunne will make the grade

Re: Jagielka
Surely this can't be as bad a signing as people are making out, if it even happens?
£35 million for Tarks, a seasoned PL pro who can do a job for a year, invest in another CB who can train/develop ready for another PL season in 2020/21.

This smells like Burnley business, sell our best players, plead poverty and sign a crock of old sh**e and have fans on here try to pretend it’s brilliant business, we actually had numpties on here defending the Crouch signing

Re: Jagielka
Nonsense....if there's a chance to pick up a top top centre half in the prime of his career...for nowt.....whilst trousering a fat fee for the as yet unproven Tarks...thats good buisness in my book, and helps to keep that bank balance just on the right side of the line.KRBFC wrote:This smells like Burnley business, sell our best players, plead poverty and sign a crock of old sh**e and have fans on here try to pretend it’s brilliant business, we actually had numpties on here defending the Crouch signing
I can see Crouch silencing the negative crew and finishing around the 10 goal mark next season, give or take a few.
