Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
Normally I avoid totally everything with "celeb" in the title.
I can't even say I liked any of the three before either.
But this is actually an eyeopening series.

Give it a look.

Re: Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
Watched the first 1 last night, the others on record.
Really struggling at the minute to keep up with Corrie, Love Island, Designated Survivor and now trawlermen at sea.
The cricket and this hot weather leaves little time for much else.
Might get an hour or so each evening for TV.
Might have to leave designated survivor on a back burner until the colder, darker nights return.

Re: Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
I'll first check who these 'celebs' are. Anybody from the likes of Love Island and it'll often rule out the entire show for me.
Re: Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
Trawlermen is great. Can’t be arsed watching the ‘celebs’ have a go. These fishermen can’t pay their bills if they don’t catch much and risk their lives.

Ben Cohen, Antony Worrall Thompson and Shane Lynch.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Who is on it and can they drown ?
So they'll have the fishing/rugby tackle, someone to cook it, and someone to sing while they eat it.

Jeez, the definition of "celebrity" is getting about as stretched as "legend" and "amazing" aint it?FactualFrank wrote:Ben Cohen, Antony Worrall Thompson and Shane Lynch.

Re: Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
Don't watch much TV however this was a worthwhile programme.

I didn't know Ben Cohen could sing!FactualFrank wrote:Ben Cohen, Antony Worrall Thompson and Shane Lynch.

You'd chuck yourself over then and hope to drown

Trawling needs banning.......destroying the seabed, where future generations of fish will grow!Blackrod wrote:Trawlermen is great. Can’t be arsed watching the ‘celebs’ have a go. These fishermen can’t pay their bills if they don’t catch much and risk their lives.
The fishermen are cutting their own throats, for short term profit, as they have done for generations.
Hence they have to go further and further away to find fish.......Stupido!

I haven't watched it yet but i am guessing that it would be due to size or some other limits that they are governed by the EU...Steve1956 wrote:Watched this the other night, they were catching shed loads of cod, they couldn't keep them, they threw them back in the sea dead, people are actually starving on this planet and we are throwing perfectly good food overboard ...WTF is that all about?

Re: Trawlermen - Celebs at sea
So if they are governed by EU limits as to how much they can catch will thus change post Brexit - if of course that ever happens ?

One of the key things is that we will gain back our fishing rights I believe!!HB Claret wrote:So if they are governed by EU limits as to how much they can catch will thus change post Brexit - if of course that ever happens ?
