Dislikable club Leicester, portray themselves as a family orientated friendly club.
nothing more than a set of schisters.

Whilst I dont agree with what Leicester have done, I think it says more about Hirst senior.
Re: George Hirst and Leicester
Could not believe how they threw a flare into the Burnley fans on the day we so respectful to their dead chairman

Why do you say that? Can you add some detail?Shore claret wrote:Dislikable club Leicester, portray themselves as a family orientated friendly club.

Not the first and will certainly not be the last!basil6345789 wrote:Cheated on the rules, went into administration, should've been fnished
They have used the loopholes available to them and that is not against any laws although it is not ethical, however, can we say that anything in football is ethical these days.
We suffer because we try to play and keep within the rules --other clubs don't bother and get away with things. Such is life!

To be fair if Burnley had done it I would have been congratulating our offices on their guile.
It seems worse because it is written by an Owl, and as the shafted club it stinks.

Leicester were able to build a stadium, knowing full well they had no intention of paying for it!

That was prior to the current owners but they basically got a free new stadium.Spijed wrote:Leicester were able to build a stadium, knowing full well they had no intention of paying for it!

They left the main building contractor £7m out of pocket which back then was a lot of money - from memory they ended up going bust and laying everyone off.ClaretTony wrote:That was prior to the current owners but they basically got a free new stadium.
I remember at the time seeing a story that whilst they were doing all of this they were still paying an injured Muzzy Izzet £30k a week who got his money before anyone because of the ridiculous footballer creditors rule.

The free stadium is one reason, also read a story that all the local businesses didn't get paid yet as has been said above the players were paid fortunes.Siddo wrote:Why do you say that? Can you add some detail?

Re: George Hirst and Leicester
Not sure you can blame Leiceser for that as, it appears, the law allows for that. Didn't the same thing happen at Portsmouth with local businesses losing out. I don't agree with it but unfortunately it appears to be perfectly legal if not morally right.Shore claret wrote:The free stadium is one reason, also read a story that all the local businesses didn't get paid yet as has been said above the players were paid fortunes.

At least with Portsmouth, the league took action and deducted points. Leicester were a club who just got away with it.Suratclaret wrote:Not sure you can blame Leiceser for that as, it appears, the law allows for that. They certainly did...maybe King Power's tentacles had spread wider than ever. They've just "won" the duty free contract at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok for another ten years so the money will continue to flow.ClaretTony wrote:At least with Portsmouth, the league took action and deducted points. I don’t see the point for football in one person owning more than one club.

Re: George Hirst and Leicester
Wednesday are definitely the jilted girlfriend in all of this, and will just have to go and lick their wounds. It’s sharp, but not illegal practice that has gone on here. They are now paying the price of being a potentially massive Club that’s been out of the Big League for just too long. The bit about Hirst Snr having to quit his job is pathetic. He has every right to secure what he thinks is the best future for his son. Leicester represent that far more than Sheffield Weds.

Re: George Hirst and Leicester
Not sure I’d describe it as a ‘blinder’. Is a year in the second division in Belgium really that good for his development?
Edit: 3 goals in 23 games at that level suggests it might not have been...
