Easy as it gets at Tod for Lowerhouse. I make us second to Walsden..just a point behind.Burnley1989 wrote:Allenby earning his coin again, £400 a day?
Daryn Smit is a class act..he will carry Burnley for a while..just as he did against House.

Tough game for Colne. A proper test of where they are. Rochdale are in good form..won at a canter at Accrington today.jrgbfc wrote:Sets Colne up nicely for their quarter final at home to Rochdale tomorrow! Hopeful of a decent crowd if we get another nice day.

Re: Lancashire League 06/07
Bizarre today.... I put more money in gate receipts than most as I usually take on a few games.
Walked on Tod today, well into the 2nd innings and was bark d at for money... I’ve no problem with paying as I know how clubs struggle, but as there was 15 of us I asked politely why we still had to pay?
‘BECAUSE I DECIDE WHEN WE STOP CHARGING’
Was really odd, as if he’d explained that the first innings where short so they wanted to top up, it would have been no problem, however it stunk of its ‘Lowerhouse, they bring fans, milk it’ and 15 of us all agreeing is no coincidence

I seem to remember a certain poster on here was suggesting Lowerhouse were in a relegation battle about 4 weeks ago ..... and I suppose they still might be with another poor run .. but it's looking OK at the minute !
More seriously, does anyone know how many teams are relegated, under the new format ?

Funny day really with the two games involving these two being over really early. We got on Tod soon after the start, looked at the scoreboard and it was showing 7/3.MACCA wrote:Cheers CT.

I’m not even a Lowerhouse fan as such, I just follow all local cricket but admittedly like Lowerhouse due to their loyal support... you always seem keen to comment, where did you spend your afternoon?

Re: Lancashire League 06/07
I spent my afternoon at a lovely barbecue thank you.
Do you honestly think clubs are trying to take advantage of these new breed of Lowerhouse fan?
I’ll admit I’m not as close as I was, I used to turn up at “house” with the away dressing room having a wet carpet from the sink hanging off the wall in the corner, shower have cold water if lucky, as you were if tea room and bar were open.
I’ve got the upmost respect for Stan and the like for the way they’ve changed the playing side from the ground up. A truly remarkable achievement and they managed to get a whole team to buy into the project and I’m genuinely glad they’ve managed to turn things around and so many kids and adults are looked after there now.
All that said, the new hangers on are absolutely hilarious.

There weren’t many of them there today. I was surprised how few were at the game on such a good day weather wise.Bordeauxclaret wrote:All that said, the new hangers on are absolutely hilarious.
I must mention one person there. I’m not sure what happened but an ambulance was called to someone sat on the road side of the ground. The ambulance was there for an age even after they’d got someone into it. I hope that he or she is ok.

It was an older lady. Someone came into the tearoom as i was in there asking for an ambulance as he could get no reception on his phone. He said a lady had collapsed and was struggling for breath. Hope she is ok.ClaretTony wrote:There weren’t many of them there today. I was surprised how few were at the game on such a good day weather wise.

There were certainly more House fans than home supporters around the pavilion area. Saw a few familiar faces on a walk around the ground too. Makes you wonder how many would have been there otherwise on..like you say..a fantastic day.

We thought it was a lady but we were sat in front of the school so couldn’t be certain. It was concerning to see the ambulance there as long as it was. Yeah no doubt but it's amazing what confidence and being on a good run can do. Like a lot of games at that level it will probably hinge on how the pros perform.Somethingfishy wrote:Tough game for Colne. A proper test of where they are. Rochdale are in good form..won at a canter at Accrington today.

When I was playing the Tod players were always great lads, the tracks were the best in the league and the Staff of Life did a good pint on the way home.

Padiham made light work of Whalley. Bowling them out for 70 and knocking them off 3 down.
Should be near top of the league now.
Big crowd up ensured I missed out on a Cheese n Onion pie again. Oh well.
