It's just that they are a bit slow in Colne and MT03ALG didn't post it until this afternoon :D

Not sure whether it's been posted but apart from Rochdale beating Colne there were wins for Darwen & Tod in the Worsley Cup.

Semis
Rochdale v Darwen
Todmorden v Clitheroe on 20th July

Final at Rochdale of Darwen on 11th August

I presume Burnley will be getting a batting pro to turn things around?

They need to do something - some very low scores on a regular basis.

That's the only problem with the 2 divisions it's not really in Colne's interest to be promoted. No fun getting convincingly beaten every week. The difference in quality is just too big.

Luckily Padiham had the nouse to sign him on a two year contract.

Unless it's the football team, then he can go with everyone's blessing.

We have had Lowerhouse supporter Macca and ClaretTony who is a Burnley supporter (and general cricket fan) up at the Arbories recently.

You are welcome to come as well Lenny. Taxi straight from the Morris Dancers.

It's always a slight risk when you employ a local pro as other clubs can sign outstanding first class cricketers.

But the lads we have signed in Mark Harvey, Chris Holt and now Jack Dewhurst have done brilliantly.

Throw in no airfares and accomadation to pay for and it makes a huge difference to a clubs finances.

Haha I don't think people jump on a bandwagon.

It's just supporting local cricket clubs and having a day out enjoying yourself.

Mark Harvey was a good batter and I thought he would have had a career in county cricket. Holt's record as Burnley pro was excellent.

I caught up with Mark in Athens. Great bloke.

Superb player who was at Lancs at the wrong time. He seemed to only get a chance when the other opening batsman had Allan Donald flu.

The Lancs 2nd team was a very strong one at the time.
