Post by Claretmatt4 » Mon Jul 08, 2019 8:51 pm

With the signing of Eric Peters, what would your all time Burnley XI look like?

GK - Nik Micholpolos
DL - Eric Peters
DC - Ian Cocks
DC - Jason Shackle
DR - Matthew Lawton
ML - Michael Kitely
DMC - Micky Melon
MR - Johann Berg Gudmunsen
AMC - J. Rodriquez
ST - Chris Woods
ST - Martin Patterson

I pride myself in getting the names correct but I called our former goalkeeper Chris Wood last week.

George O'garney, as per the Rochdale programme many moons ago. Still makes me chuckle.

I am not on holiday. I am reading this thread with interest. I don't do misspelling; that's why I haven't contributed until now.

I just caught a fly in my hand. I was so surprised I let it go. Now it's buzzing round me, gloating.

Hendricks and Woods both shop at Tescos and ASDAS but not at Sainsbury or Morrison.

Wonder if they drink in Wetherspoon or Wetherspoons?

They live in Hide, Cheshire so will shop at WaitRose.

As for drinking you need to ask Leisure who has more shares in Spoons than anybody in the UK.

My favourite misspelling was in one of the tabloids after the Orient Game, which had a photo of Neil Grewcock captioned 'Nigel Cock'.

Always remembered fondly in our house was when the Hull City announcer (at Boothferry Park) in the mid-90s announced the Clarets team with Marion Beresford in goal :)

Absolutely, unfortunately that chant didn’t take off because everyone was covering their ears for the pre game announcements. I have been to some very loud heavy rock concerts with less decibels than the PA announcer at Basaksehir
