first one might be 1914 cup final team, possibly off to Blackpool for a few pints
2ns one is definately churchill at the turf demanding the bee hole lane bogs be demolished immediately.

I'll give you 3/6....and 1 mark for wit.
That would take decades to achieve. We defeated the Nazi's more quickly than demolishing the bogs.

Wrong again.
It was the script of Grease being written 33 years before it became a film.
Churchill then went on to show them how to dance like Travolta.

I believe Churchill was at the Turf in June ‘45 laying the first brick of the new corner stands.

martin-p and bodge

Lost the will to live with this now though.

1/. Burnley FC. Berlin. May 1914.

2/. L to R 3 x prospective candidates in the 1945 General Election.
Richard Fort (Clitheroe)
Harmer Nicholls (Nelson & Colne) who fathered Sue Nicholls AKA Audrey Roberts in Coronation St.
H Milnes (Burnley)
However, I have no idea who the guy with the microphone is.

All auditioning for the first ever 'Britain's Got Talent'.

Turf Moor, June 1945.

I guess the trip to Berlin in May 1914 was a reward for winning the FA Cup a couple of weeks earlier at the end of April. However, with WW1 imminent I suspect they would have been happy to return home.

Thinking about it the story has all the hallmarks of a wonderful film script.

Captain Tommy Boyle lifts the FA Cup in 1914 before going off to fight for his country in WW1 where he suffers life threatening injuries, only to survive and return to captain Burnley to win the First Division Championship in a season of 30 games undefeated.

On second thoughts the story is probably beyond the realms of belief.

To add more detail the top photo was taken outside Café Bauer on Unter den Linden. Sadly the building was destroyed during WWII

Here is another from Burnley's 1914 and first overseas tour when they played Viktoria Club Berlin.
Within only a few months they would be at war killing each other.

Can't find that one in the book, Mike. :)

But there is another of the Germans presenting Tommy Boyle with the giant laurel wreath.

Why, when the same answer is written above 3 times?
Given that, why then bother to post it?

However, it has given other posters chance to post interesting pics.

I can't answer your question without being impolite. Well, actually, I could, but I don't want to.

Obviously i didn't read the ******* answer here before googling it, did I? I feel like you should have had it within you to figure that out for yourself, with just a little bit of thinking.

Edit: And given that the answer was given "three times", apparently, have you whined to the previous two people who posted it after the answer was given, or did you choose to single me out for some reason?
