This could lead to one of the biggest meltdowns from a set of fans ever, should be great fun to watch.
Ever get the impression Mike Ashley is laughing his head off behind the scenes.

Sadly that's no longer possible as you are probably well-aware judging by your user name. They certainly won't be getting the cream of the crop when it comes to managers. Can't wait to see his glum chops when they get "robbed" every week.... :)

His record isn’t that bad is it? Uninspiring but hardly a guaranteed failure.

With the whole 'Ex-Sunderland' angle, and the hatred of Ashley up there, you can just see a similar meltdown to the Wise/Kinnear/Keegan/Shearer era here.

Think they might go.

Isn't he a Geordie? Least he has that in his favour. I heard there'd been no official approach as of yesterday, though.

A mass exodus of their best players will begin if Bruce gets the job, im off to Ladbrookes to see what odds i can get for Newcastle to be relegated.

Does a decent job wherever he goes, initially at least. Not a bad appointment for them given their situation. Still relegation fodder though.

fair appointment given their situation.Once/If new owners come in they can then bring their own manager in.What I don't like about Bruce is his zero loyalty wherever he has been.Sheff W allowed him to delay taking over so he could watch cricket in West Indies and deal with a family loss and then does one asap a bigger job arrives

Boyhood Newcastle fan and a capable manager. I was hoping they’d do the decent thing and go for some fancy foreigner we’ve never heard of.

I can't see Ashley paying any compo for a new manager.

BFS wasn't interested in going back anyhow.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48947463

Bruce is going to be announced soon, once they've agreed a compo package with Sheff Wed(£5m).

Suggests Ashley is trying to run them on the cheap again, they won't be anywhere near the top 6 next season.

So long as we don't gift them 6 points as we did last season, with 2 awful displays.

Did you know Steve Bruce writes (very bad) murder mysteries based around a football club

Did you know he once had trials for Burnley before signing for Gillingham.

Did you know it is a wonderful appointment for the rest of the premier league.

I quite like him he’s funny. He might do alright

Ashley skimping again, and some people have a go at our board,it's no wonder Rafa got out of that snakepit,i can see them struggling to attract big names, hence their desire to get Graham Carr on board, didn't know he was Alan's dad, let's hope for the Geordies sake the price is right.
