Wonder how much he earned for that contribution.

Great career. Incredible in fact at times. Really made the most of his ability. And a top character and nice guy.

all that said it was a dreadful signing for us. Has any club ever signed a player that they originally tried to sign 20 years previous?

Hope he enjoys his retirement though. Has been great for the game.

I’m glad he finished a great career with us. These are the sort of contacts you want connected to the club. He did nothing on the pitch... pish, who cares. We have a celebrity on the rise that’s on our side. Masterly business Burnley.

Just think if Stan had bought Crouch the Olympic breakfast in the Little Chef when he met him he might have just done enough to seal the deal.

As I remember it, PC was put off Burnley because of the riots (that's what the media called them ;) ).

A million times this, our media team have been good across; website, audio/visual, print for many years now and we won an award for our programme in i think 07/08.

If there haven't been at the very least phone number swapping i'd be gobsmacked.

We should turn that expertise stateside and try and market us heavily as the underdogs, there are many Americans who would lap our story up.

There was a quote in the Guardian that said we were just as pleased to see him arrive as Stoke fans were upset to see him go.

BULLSHIT!

I doubt there's a single Burnley fan in the Universe that wouldn't rather it had never happened and we'd sold Sam Vokes during this transfer window instead.

Fair play to him for having a good career and all that but let's not kid ourselves, he did the square root of **** all for us.
