Josh Benson

Post by burnley007 » Sat Jul 13, 2019 7:13 am

I'm guessing we'll be seeing a lot more of Mr Benson this season, he looks like a good prospect hopefully.
Could be our next superstar!

Have you seen much of him? He certainly looked a confident lad in his interview.

Must admit I found it interesting he played the most minutes yesterday.
Dyche trying to get more of a look at the lad in a game situation?

I might be wrong but didn’t he travel with the team a few times last season?

Good article on u23 Glennon, too. Sounds like he has the right attitude.

He was on the bench against Man United at Old Trafford.

Certainly comes across as a confident lad. When asked Jimmy Dunne spoke highly of him also, which of course he would be wouldn’t say no he’s tosh but none the less. Let’s hope this lad can push on and be in and around the squad this year.

I looked at this link and I notice Pope and Dyche are both 'on sale now'. A bit worrying?

Biggest thing I have against Josh Benson is that I immediately think of John Benson. I need to get over it

That was the first thing I thought of when I first saw Josh play. I've got over it now.

Isn't Mace Goodridge meant to be well thought of too in centre mid?

There.

I've said it.

The lad's probably being dealing with it all his young life.

So let us never speak of it again.

Yes he is supposed to be a very good prospect and was getting excellent reviews, but he was badly injured half way through last season and sidelined unfortunately. I'm not sure of his status now. I just hope he comes back strong.

From what Steve Stone said in an interview from Poland, he's back in training but not ready for match duty yet. Full contact I think SD calls it.

Mace hasn't played since 22nd October, when he had an outstanding game in the PDL. He then suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury which has sidelined him since. He's been in Poland this week with the under-23s but is still not ready to play as yet.

He was looking really impressive last season alongside Josh Benson in the midfield and hopefully he'll get back to that level although, as we've seen with other players, it takes some time to get close to full fitness once you are back playing after this injury.
