Hard to name one but

Jimmy Mullen - David Eyres
Adrian Heath - Glen Little
Chris Waddle - Andy Payton
Stan Ternent - I'd always say Paul Cook, Stan would always say Kevin Ball.
Steve Cotterill - John McGreal
Owen Coyle - Steven Fletcher I think
Brian Laws - Dean Marney
Eddie Howe - Danny Ings
Sean Dyche - Tom Heaton

I must confess I couldn't think of one initially but I certainly wouldn't have gone or Kevin Long.

I just couldn’t think of another who has actually had impact. Fletcher scored our goals and you know that I liked Kalvenes.

Eagles perhaps?

Wade Elliot was a cracking signing by Cotterill. Forgotten how much but it can’t have been much as we had no money at that time.

I couldn’t remember if it was Cotts or Howe that brought in Elliot... because of the Bournemouth connection, but I ‘m pretty sure you’re right as I’m pretty sure Wade predated Howe.

Free transfer, he was out of contract.

Wade came in 2005, almost 6 years before Howe came. I’m told they didn’t get on very well in their Bournemouth days.

Yes CT that fits in my timeline, even with a dodgy memory more full of timelines than a night in front of the Discovery channel :D

I was a major fan of Wade’s I was heartbroken when he left. such an exciting player, not as breathtaking as Little, but certainly a more regular end product or assist.

Outstanding player for us but his departure was inevitable. Did well for Birmingham & Bristol City after that.

I always thought the arrival of mears seriously effected Elliott's game. I remember the buffoons in the longside berrating Elliott for coming inside a lot but when you have a rightback hogging the space on the flank and not getting back what else could he do? That space where he did his magic was taken by mears incessant need to bomb forward at every opportunity and because he was quick, he seemed to get a free pass by the fans

Oh yes I agree it was when not if he went... but I still think it was a season too early at least. He looked the one player we had that the premier defences had no answer for.

Steve Thompson for me. Free transfer, scored vital goals and was just an all round perfect fit for the club. I think he should have been used more after the promotion. Paterson also scored a lot of goals but we paid over a million for him so Thommo gets it.

Thompson is a cracking shout and I’d now go with him rather than Fletcher. We looked a different team from the minute he arrived.

Frank Casper - Mike Conroy. Would we have won promotion without him?

In terms of profit Michael Keane wins easily, bought for a nominal fee,and sold for £30m,not to mention his vital equaliser against Middlesbrough, which proved worth it's weight in gold during our Championship title season, not just for the point gained and the 2 points they dropped, but for the psychological lift it give us by staying top of the league,i'm sure their form dipped slightly after this game also.
