Wow, just wow. Never seen a better game of cricket. Have done a lot of pacing up and down the static. So glad it was on proper telly, could here the cheers from other caravans on site and even Mrs NL was watching.

I’m lost for words. That was simply incredible!
Stokes should get a knighthood for that performance. What an outstanding game.

New Zealand played well enough to win. Would have been no shame in losing to them

The lucky 4 byes off Stokes was the difference in the end. Terribly unlucky way for the Kiwis to lose.

What a wonderful end to a truly magnificent World Cup. Absolutely outstanding game!

As for Ben Stokes, I’ll let the following two pictures do the talking… No player deserves it more after what he has had to pick himself up from, in cricketing terms. Just a brilliant, brilliant display.

What a fantastic game, been through every emotion possible in the last hour and a half. Still can hardly believe it.
A lot of sympathy to NZ, fielded fantastically, didn't deserve to lose, but nobody did today. The game of cricket was the winner.

I had to have the scoring explained by my mate in the pub and don't think even he was sure, as we're not cricket fans, but all the same was nice to come back when the odds were against us.

Great result, fantastic entertainment but,oh boy, didn’t,t we get all the luck!

We were bowled out, NZ werent.
That ricochet boundary.
That six when Boult trod on the boundary ( Stokes would have been out).
Tied after 50 overs.
Tied after the super over.
Won by the finest of margins.

Tough on NZ, but never mind eh?

Watching it and seeing the scores needed / balls, it felt more like coming back to equalize with seconds to go in normal time and then winning in the final seconds of extra-time.

That was amazing.
Sport at its very finest, and people say cricket is boring.

Hats off to NZ , a terrible way to lose, the unlucky 4 over throws off the bat, tied twice and then lost on boundaries hit.
They were very gracious in defeat.

Best final ever.

The last time I watched cricket was the 1999 World Cup when I was in hospital in Manchester. It was the only thing to watch on the terrestrial channels.

I dare say it'll be another 20 years before I watch it again, but I guess when I do watch it, it's a pretty good.

2016 20/20 World Cup Final, West Indies needed 19 to win on final over, Stokes bowling, and Braithwaite hit 4 sixes from the first 4 balls to win it.

I’ve had a break and been for something to eat but I’m still struggling to believe what I’ve seen.

I had all but given it up at one point and then came the tension of the Stokes/Buttler partnership, thinking if either of them got out it would be fatal.

Those two brought us back in but with an over to go I thought we’d lose, then I thought we’d do it after the overthrows. Then the super over and all that drama.

I’ve always loved cricket but in 60 years or so if watching I’ve never seen anything like that.

The only disappointing thing now is this competition is over.

Absolutely incredible stuff. So many ridiculous incidents. The catch onto the boundary was poor fielding - he should have been more aware of his position.

The game was dead before that incident and the ludicrous overthrow off Stokes’ bat for an extra 4 runs.

I was supposed to be heading out with the missus and lad but managed to talk her into staying in to watch the last 45 mins which turned into 90. She was nearly as enthralled as me by the end.

Agreed. A great day for cricket and England, but I would really have loved it had we beaten the Aussies or one of the two "big" sub-continental teams in such fortunate circumstances.
Really felt for the Kiwis. Hard to imagine how they could have done more to win, or how they must feel.
Williamson's reaction as captain was exemplary.
Congratulations to both teams.
