He's gone on the M6 in the wrong direction and he's currently just passed CarlisleSteve-Harpers-perm wrote:Clive Holt has made a last minute dash across Europe in his mini to get his signature I’ve heard.
No..he is going the right way. On his way to sign up Brian Easton.JohnDearyMe wrote:He's gone on the M6 in the wrong direction and he's currently just passed Carlisle
i think they'd have to pay a bit more for Vanaken, but glad someone else rates him, he has that awkwardness to shake off the ball like Angel Di Maria too. The standout MF at Genk is Berge, probably above our pay grade.....surprised he hasn't gone to a big club yet but he's only 21bfccrazy wrote:Both look good players but if we’re going to Belgium for a midfielder the I’d love us to look at Hans Vanaken at Brugge - 45 goals and 45 assists in 170 games for them ... only 25 ... and would cost the same as Malinovskyi.
That’s that then if it relies on Clive Holt dashing and he went in the wrong direction. He should have been cutting him off on the Italian border.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote:Clive Holt has made a last minute dash across Europe in his mini to get his signature I’ve heard.
He's been found asleep in his car at Tebay Services. When questioned, he had no idea what he was doing there.....JohnDearyMe wrote:He's gone on the M6 in the wrong direction and he's currently just passed Carlisle

I think our chances of getting him ended two to three weeks agoCleveleys_claret wrote:Malinovskyi still not been announced at Atalanta although he had his medical at weekend. Would hope that if not announced today then he may be weighing up his options with our interest.
Although not a bad move for the lad as only just realised Atalanta qualified for the Champions League for the first time ever
Or he's failed his medical and the selling club don't want anybody else to know. Well not until after he's signed for us!!!Cleveleys_claret wrote:Malinovskyi still not been announced at Atalanta although he had his medical at weekend. Or we upped our offer. I read on an italian site that Atalanta were not prepared to go above a certain figure and Genk had been asking for more but had lowered their price. Could be that we are prepared to meet the original asking price, though it looks as if the player is dead keen on Atalanta because of CL footballDark Cloud wrote:Or he's failed his medical and the selling club don't want anybody else to know. He's been there since Sunday, and Italy are actually in front of us.....MarkGreen wrote:It's only 8am in Atlanta, if he is signing for them I'd expect it to be a lot later on we would see an oficial announcement
But Atlanta is not in ItalyGrumps wrote:He's been there since Sunday, and Italy are actually in front of us.....
Sunday medical, Monday contract sign and media duties, media team require time to write up articles/create content to announce him signing.Grumps wrote:He's been there since Sunday, and Italy are actually in front of us.....
& it'll be a long away trip for the Champions League!ClaretTony wrote:But Atlanta is not in Italy

I don't know where he is right now but the club where he was supposedly having the medical was Atalanta in Italy.Grumps wrote:And the player is not in Atlanta!!
Yes I know that, hence my earlier postClaretTony wrote:I don't know where he is right now but the club where he was supposedly having the medical was Atalanta in Italy.
I know the money is probably better but if I were a decent young player I think I'd be heading to Italy rather than Burnley, for many obvious reasons. The Italian League is just as good, the food is better, the lifestyle is better, the weather is better and...the girls have the edge as well. Actually I even wonder if Burnley would pay more than Atalanta in wages anyway? Early 20's, famous (ish) and loaded. Under those circumstances what's the argument? As Jeremy Clarkson once said, 'to be born Italian and male is to win the lottery of life'. Okay he's not Italian but I'd settle for 'male living in Italy and well off'.ewanrob wrote:You would hope that the Premier league and possibly a bigger weekly wage would be more attractive to him, although arent Atlanta in the CL this season
No it isn't. Serie A average 25k, Championship 20kTVC15 wrote:The Italian League is nowhere near as good as Premier League and hasn’t been for many years.
Their league is even behind the Championship in terms of crowds.
Who said anything about averages ?Devils_Advocate wrote:No it isn't. Serie A average 25k, Championship 20k

It was bigger than and is now in those terms because they play over 150 more games. If you think that equates to the Championship being ahead of Serie A in terms of crowds you go for your life but not many would agree with youTVC15 wrote:Who said anything about averages ?

Might be a year out of date but and Serie A may have overtaken them since but I knew it’s been reported for a few years that Italian crowds and their football in general had been in decline and the Championship was bigger than them in terms of support
Well it’s simply a fact that more people watch the championship than they do Serie A - 2 million more isn’t it ?Devils_Advocate wrote:It was bigger than and is now in those terms because they play over 300 more games. Come on mate, I know you like to bicker on and argue but for once just admit that the point you were making was wrong. If you cant I'll leave it and let others make up their own minds.TVC15 wrote:Well it’s simply a fact that more people watch the championship than they do Serie A - 2 million more isn’t it ?
The context was a response to a post which said Serie A is on a par with the premier league - and I said it was a long way behind in many aspects...and made the point about crowds in the championship let alone the premier league which i’m guessing are significantly higher than Serie A - total and average !
Not agreeing with anyone, just thought your statement was silly.TVC15 wrote:Who through you a nut nobby ?
If you’ve got something to add look it up yourself rather than look stupid agreeing with someone like DA
