Summer Break, what summer break? Zizkov 1st game on Saturday
Pardubice away for me on Saturday in the first game of the new season for the mighty Viktoria Zizkov!
Admittedly we have a 3 month break for winter which is filled by Premier League football, central heating, and comfort food haha
Can't bloody wait

Once went to watch them away at Slavia Prague. Was the coldest game I’ve ever been to. They brought one fan and we met him pre match. Crazy bloke. We saw him scaling the fence in the away end on his own when they scored.

They just won the 2nd leage (FNL) so are back up into the top league for the first time since 2014-15, and i'd expect a lower mid-table finish this time round.cricketfieldclarets wrote:How are Ceske Budejovice getting on these days?

Czech football does attract its fair share of mentalists. We have one at zizkov who by all accounts has a decent engineering job, but come Sunday morning, he clads himself in double denim, grabs his rattle, and doesnt shut up or stop dancing until full time.

Ive mentioned to Jon Pepper to try and get the lads down while they are over. Would be good to see them at Zizkov after them going along to sparta last time around.

And it's
No Nay Never
No Nay Never No More
Will we play
The Knights of
Radnicki Nis
No Nay Never No More!
I always sing English football songs when I'm abroad, for the laugh.
Come to think of it, now we're out of Europe...

I’ve had no summer break with the Thai league playing through our summer. Port FC have been an enjoyable watch.

Just booked a room in a Nuclear fallout bunker for Brno away in May

"luxury" and "economy" rooms are exactly the same. Excellent soviet joke there

Do they have away ends there like they have in Poland? Checked them out once on Google (can't remember why), bloody hilarious, they have cages about the size of a container (or smaller) then lock them in. It really is like being in jail. There are a couple of classics where the fans are all climbing the sides like monkeys. Most of them seem to have no shirts. A lot of them are actually lower league grounds and said cages are usually surrounded by grass like they have just been dumped there with the contents. One even has a caged tunnel leading to it like some kind of walkway they used to have for lions in circuses.ZizkovClaret wrote: Just booked a room in a Nuclear fallout bunker for Brno away in May

That's brilliant mate. I love stuff like this - I'd be in the tree for a better view. Get a load of this one though at Znicz Pruszkow:ZizkovClaret wrote:Yup!

Zizkov is a nice little ground. Saw an FA Cup Quarter Final there years ago, midweek, for about 25p.
The beer and the sausage / hotdog cost more!
Been to Bohemians' ground ...maybe their old one, as I think they moved. Also saw the Prague Derby at Sparta's stadium...in the Slavia end, as we had to go straight from the ground after a 3-4 hour flight delay from Stansted airport, complete with our large luggage!
Even managed to squeeze a train trip to Vienna in and a match at Austria Wien...ah, the days of no kids and no wife!!!!

Bohemka are still in their "old" ground. They recently removed the seats from their "ultras" end, which will make it an interestingly atmospheric end.whentheballmoves wrote:Zizkov is a nice little ground. Saw an FA Cup Quarter Final there years ago, midweek, for about 25p.

Zizkov's ground is somewhat being hemmed in by redevelopment atm so it remains to be seen how it works next Sunday for the 1st home game
