A new rule for something that will happen once every twenty or thirty years? Fair enough.

Re: PL bring in head to head
Are they not just coming into line with other leagues in Europe?

Yeah, just like two ties in one game of cricket.jdrobbo wrote:A new rule for something that will happen once every twenty or thirty years? Fair enough.
“Sod it, just give to whoever score most boundaries. It’ll never happen anyway.”

Re: PL bring in head to head
It’s weird because I thought it was only the Spanish league that had head to head last season. I’m fairly sure all other main leagues were the same as the prem. Perhaps we are all now following the Spanish.
Only know that because of some end of season accumulators across the European leagues that were impacted by Valencia finishing top 4.

As far as I know, it's only ever happened once that two teams finished level on points, goals for, and goals against; they didn't have a play-off as it was for 14th place in the third division. Or thereabouts.jdrobbo wrote:A new rule for something that will happen once every twenty or thirty years? Fair enough.

Re: PL bring in head to head
Actually, now I think this is different because the Spanish league use head to head (when teams finish on level points) before goal difference. That was where they are very different to everyone else in Europe.
