Re: Tarky on the move?
From foxestalk (Leicester forum)
"This is what I'm thinking too, its much harder to defend when you're stood near the half way line with no cover and 3 on rushing attackers than it is sat on the 18 yard box, blocking longshots and heading away crosses."
Since when have Leicester played like Barcelona or is that they plan for next season? Also if I'm right it was big slabhead Maguire who got sent off on turf last season in the first min because he had "attackers running at him with no cover" goodness me how fickle are fans.

Why? Tarkowski is much better than Mee. There’s a reason Mee is never targeted by other clubs. Another one to add to the overrated list.Vegas Claret wrote:I'd be far more concerned if it was Mee

There will be a lot more room on the car park when hes gone
Re: Tarky on the move?
The concern if Tarkowski does leave is that any replacement would not have had a) a full pre season with us and b) won’t have been bedded in with how we play, as Keane and Tarkowski themselves were.
That production line has served us very well defensively.

Re: Tarky on the move?
Tarkowski is strong, powerful and good on the ball, we do not have a natural replacement in his league, he will be badly missed.
If Tarks goes and with the lightweight cover that the centre halfs have in front of them, we will be in for a long tough season
I can't see us bringing in anyone late in the day to step straight into the side who will be fit enough or good enough in any position, so we must keep Tarks at all cost

If Tarks did indeed cost us three million, and he went for, say 35, the profit on that dealThe Enclosure wrote:But could/ would still be several millions of pounds
would be 32 million. 25% of that would be eight million. So yes, a fair old wedge.
If what Brentford are due is as simple as that.
Re: Tarky on the move?
Hard to disagree with that tbf. We defend so deep, particularly away from home our defenders are obviously going to get a lot of blocks/headers in. Our system makes all our defenders look a bit better than they actually are.CFS wrote:From foxestalk (Leicester forum)

Re: Tarky on the move?
If we can replace Tarko with Tomori n Jarrod Bowen then that would be excellent business to me. Investing in 2 younger lads, grow n develop under Dyche n then sell on in 2yr for massive fees! Utc..
Re: Tarky on the move?
Not going to happen. Just a regurgitated rumour because of the lack of any other rumours. I'm afraid it's all gone quiet on the Burnley transfer front. I'm hoping it's because they're playing the card's close to their chest and not because we are happy with our squad now that we've signed two new players. We've spent very little compared to our incomings, now is the time to speculate and consolidate not penny pinch.

Re: Tarky on the move?
Is this the same Jimmy Dunne that couldn’t get in the Sunderland side at third tier?
Not even close to PL level. IF Tarks goes AN Other is coming in.
Totally agree with the above comment about a ball winning MFer taking some pressure from our 2xCHs. Cork and Westwood are fine but we are lacking power in there.

We would still need that centre mid. I agree it's excellent business though. I've given up getting worked up about it tbh, it's like groundhog day these transfer windowsclaretdj wrote:If we can replace Tarko with Tomori n Jarrod Bowen then that would be excellent business to me. Re: Tarky on the move?
Can't see there being anything in those rumours tbh. Coady was a key man for Wolves last season playing as a sweeper and starting their attacks from the back. Pretty sure he was captain as well, why would they get shut?beddie wrote:Was it just gossip a short while ago that we were interested in Coady?

Re: Tarky on the move?
It says to me that if we bring in a quality midfielder, arguably better than we have then it would in theory in turn take some pressure off the defence as a whole, as long as it was with the view of holding the ball better in midfield, which would involve a bit of a change of tactics from Mr dyche.ClaretTony wrote:I don’t understand that comment

id trust dyche to have a centre back option already lined up and he will have assessed that gibson is ready to step up.

Which has nothing to do with whether Tarkowski is in the defence or not.alwaysaclaret wrote:It says to me that if we bring in a quality midfielder, arguably better than we have then it would in theory in turn take some pressure off the defence as a whole, as long as it was with the view of holding the ball better in midfield, which would involve a bit of a change of tactics from Mr dyche.

Re: Tarky on the move?
Perhaps not but imo does simplify the point that's being made. However we all know we desperately need to strengthen midfield in any case, tarkowski's sale would no doubt give us potential for better quality there but would leave us a big void, tarkowski imo is a good footballer and would no doubt be missed, but was caught in possession somewhat last season, which brings me back to midfield, maybe if he had quality in that area it would give him somewhere to go "an option" as you have said earlier we would be silly to think there's not a list.ClaretTony wrote:Which has nothing to do with whether Tarkowski is in the defence or not.
Re: Tarky on the move?
Perhaps the only way we could have brought Tarks in in the first place is to offer a smaller Fee (3m) with said add ons, than a larger fee that we couldn't have afforded.AndyClaret wrote:I'd rather have 100% of 40 million.
So I would rather have Tarks play for Burnley, be brilliant, get called up for England, increase his value ten times over and earn us approximately £30m in profit when he does move, than to have never had him play for us at all.

I’m guessing you’re the type that wins 10 mill on the lottery and moans that it’s not 20 mill.

Presumably he thinks this because Maguire reportedly gone to UTD for £80mil. It could mean a domino effect, but nothing to say it's Tarky.
