Been to that one loads of times mate and we've sat in the car behind and chilled. Get a lot of bikers there cos of the shop next door to it.Steve1956 wrote:Pop over to knott end on the ferry cracking little chippy there, its only a three minute crossing.
Knott End Ferry? Is this possibly the most expensive ride in the world? 3 minutes and it costs £2 per adult each way. We once thought of nippimg over to Fleetwood but at £8 return I said we'll just bloody drive there.

Re: Fish and Chips at Fleetwood
It's weird that ain't it Steve. I can sit eating my chips in the car park behind Knott End Chippy and look over the estuary a couple of hundred yards to Fleetwood but to drive there it takes almost as long as it does to get from home. Just call me tight as a tight thing who has just won a prize for being tight at the annual Scottish awards for tightness.Steve1956 wrote:35 mins from Knott end to Fleetwood in the car Ian,I paid the ferryman every time.
PS: I knew a girl once who was tight and...oh sorry...yes of course...no smut...of course yes...we're British.
So anyway...about Knott End Ferry...

Re: Fish and Chips at Fleetwood
I lived in Knott end for 3 years....those old three wheel scooters for old fogies used to do my head in,coming out of the Co-op was like walking onto the M25 at rush hour, and the amount of coffin chaser's angling how to wangle a single old granny with no relatives out of their property was rife, and my next door neighbor was a regular on the ferry hopping over to Fleetwood to visit the local prostitutes,Knott end makes Royston Vasey seem normal.houseboy wrote:It's weird that ain't it Steve. Re: Fish and Chips at Fleetwood
If you want hassle from three wheeled trikes try Lincolnshire (particularly around the Skegness/Mablethorpe area). These people are neither old nor, it would appear, in any way disabled. We came to the conclusion that locals just used them as cheap alternative forms of transport. The local chavs seem particularly fond of this mode of transport, gleefully running anyone over who happens to be using the footpath. They also get in the way on roads. It seems like every third shop is a mobility shop selling or hiring these things cheap. They park them up outside shops, jump off, sprint in to by cigs and cider then off again running over pedestrians. I kid you not mate they are a menace and no-one in this world is going to persuade me that there are that many disabled people concentrated into one area, especially ones that can run after dismounting. We checked out the prices in a window once and they are so much cheaper than running a car, especially in an area as flat as that.Steve1956 wrote:I lived in Knott end for 3 years....those old three wheel scooters for old fogies used to do my head in,coming out of the Co-op was like walking onto the M25 at rush hour, and the amount of coffin chaser's angling how to wangle a single old granny with no relatives out of their property was rife, and my next door neighbor was a regular on the ferry hopping over to Fleetwood to visit the local prostitutes,Knott end makes Royston Vasey seem normal.

I heard that you once dropped a pound coin and you bent down to pick it up and it hit you on the back of the head houseboyhouseboy wrote:It's weird that ain't it Steve. My Brother-in-law and Sister live just over the Itchen Bridge in Netley Abbey near Soton. He will drive a 10 miles detour (20+ minutes) to avoid the 50p toll ... We found this out when they came to pick us up from a cruise a couple of years ago, and it was a 1/2 hour drive to get back to their house, instead of the 10 minutes it took in a taxi going to the port from their gaff a fortnight before.Steve1956 wrote:35 mins from Knott end to Fleetwood in the car Ian,I paid the ferryman every time.
Mind you I can't complain it saved me £20 on the taxi fare .
