Burnley fans having clearly been involved in the identification of this pair of gobsh1tes won't suit the agenda of the hordes of self-righteous snowflakes that pollute that bit of the south coast.

That article should just be about how bad the court system is. A 3 month delay as they didn't have time to sort the witnesses, despite it being months ago.

Tbh I’m pleased about the delay

It’ll cost them again to travel back down to Brighton

Lifetime ban should be the minimum if they are found guilty.

Tbh the Brighton stewards and police were a disgrace that day. I was kicked out myself shortly after our first goal for returning a w*nker sign to the Brighton fan that had given me grief since the kick off. I was then told that specific sign was homophobic and I was lucky not to be arrested.

Previous visits there, no problems. A few boo's for bong and all of a sudden they were looking for excuses to have a go at fans.

When BFC contacted me I simply asked that if indeed I was using homophobic gestures why wasn't I arrested, the police had informed BFC that there wasn't sufficient evidence.

Wouldn't surprise me if these lads just boo'ed bong.

Just wondering. Can anyone tell me when the w8nk8r sign was deemed to be homophobic? Are the gay community now hijacking all hand signs and calling them offensive for some kind of agenda? It is the internationally known sign for a quick one off the wrist and I'm pretty damn certain straight blokes do it as well (I know I ...oops, sorry).

I couldn't believe it, I was grabbed when going to the toilet, they didn't come to my seat or anything. Maybe I shouldn't have gestured, but as I said in reply to the email from BFC, these things happen up and down the country every game - and its very rare people are ejected for them.

Aye - compared to my local paper, that Brighton edition is full of crazy stuff.

Best of all the shenanigans on the beach.... "the woman is lying naked, holding what appears to be a can of lager, possibly Stella Artois. Her partner, wearing only shorts, appears to be performing oral sex on her..." Love it that they noticed it was Stella

If you would have seen other posts on this you would be aware that the case has been delayed at least twice already probably at considerable cost to everyone involved.

There was a thread on this incident at the time it happened, both on here and Brightons forum, which was less than complimentary about the stewarding that day

The laws of our land say 'Innocent until proven guilty'.

It shouldn't be trial by football message board.

Yes but seems fellow supporters dont like Burnley fans being innocent.
Some cant wait to string them up.

Remember it's never the police or other supporters fault in some of our fans eyes.

This is just pushing Brighton's endless claims (along with many other clubs) that all Burnley fans are bigoted, racist and homophobic.

There’s a lot of tension between the supporters of both Clubs. I think it needs to be resolved; mayhap with a dust-up on a bit of spare land near the Amex, in September.

Couldn't agree more. I have witnessed many incidents of over zealous stewarding and policing over the years at Burnley matches, as have many other supporters. If and when these lads are found guilty, then feel free to take the high moral ground.

You have my total sympathy mate, it's one thing to say you were being a tad offensive (I hate that bloody word - it has been hijacked by the PC police) and maybe you could have thought better of it, but for it to be suggested it is somehow homophobic is just plain ridiculous.

The change in the meaning/use of words and gestures interests me actually. Now you can get in trouble for suggesting a bloke looks 'gay' when you could mean he looks quite cheerful and happy. This is what I mean when I say words have been hijacked. The legitimate use of the word gay was (and actually still is) happy. But now it is used almost exclusively to mean homosexual or lesbian and any other use of it can be construed as offensive.

It’s a good job that Brighton fans singing “you’re just a town full of racists” at Burnley fans was not considered to be abusive or in any way discriminatory

Society is much more accepting and that's good because everyone has a right to be themselves and be happy living their lives the way they want to.

Being a vintage Claret (over 50) I remember words like Queer being used which today, even to my ears sounds malicious. I'm not going to use the word offensive because that particular word is completely overused.

Brighton is another country They have odd rules and practices and a Green Party MP.
Also a group of fans who have very short memories. Its not 5 mins since they played at a running track with stands borrowed from the Open.

Southerners in general don't like northerners, particularly when they're doing all right for themselves.
I don't particularly like many southerners either. Most, but not all, that I've met seem to think they're better than us for some bizarre reason.
I'd like to say that I hope we stick it up 'em this season, but I'm not sure whether it would be taken out of context. :D

Somebody was so offended by the goings on on the beach, that they stopped to take a photo (maybe even a video!!) Just so they could check back at home later and be sure of what they'd seen.

I've always believed people should be what they want to be without being harassed or abused or worse still attacked, I've lead my life as an egalitarian in that sense. I too remember the 'queer' word (some members of the gay community still use it as an affectionate term, which is fine if they are okay with that) but you are right, at least we are out of the dark days of insulting those who are different from ourselves, in whatever way. But I really do wish people would just stop being 'offended' all over the place, and especially those who are 'offended' on behalf of someone else who may not themselves be in any way 'offended'.

Offence is always taken but very rarely given.
