Benson

Only a friendly vs Fleetwood. But this lad has got some talent. Probably our best player in his second half showing. Looks skilful and composed with a great touch.

We need to get him out on loan at a good standard, and see what he's got week in week out in competitive mens football.

At this rate we might need him.

Nah, he's in the shop window, to get a good loan move.

Wouldn't surprise me if SD kept him at the club this season, unless we signed a new CM.

They're all a bit past it for us now though.

He seriously struggled at Crewe. Looked a long way out of his depth. Made a nice pass toward the end though which will have hopefully given him confidence.

The key is not to get too over excited and carried away about him, and also not letting him get to carried away.

Centre of the park is where the games are won and lost, and it's only pre season against some lower league clubs, so we can't be getting carried away.
It's great he's showing good signs, but I think a good loan move is needed first.

What about Ali Koiki? Already been on our bench in the Premier League, had a loan out and played regularly (no idea how he did) at Swindon, and getting minutes and scoring tonight.

Does he look like he might make the grade?

Well he's certainly better than Lennon, who was again awful tonight. All Lennon did when he got the ball was pass back, didn't make 1 attempt to turn and take on the full back.

No idea if he’ll make the grade but currently he’s our third choice LB. Although played wide midfield tonight

I agree, but think that says as much about Lennon as it does koiki.

However I feel appearances will be limited at LB, so again maybe another loan, further up the pyramid to the last one might be the next step.

It's just my honest opinion. I just don't see what Lennon brings to the team, especially going forward.

Thought Benson looked out of it on Saturday as of the occasion was too much for him but tonight I thought he looked much more like the player he is. Thought he was excellent at times.

I’m sure we will try to get him out on loan this season, he needs to play some first team football.
