When you see Chelsea and Man City knocking about at the top end of English football year on year, you know that the vehicle that is Sky has helped with that.

Sky's coverage of football (in fact all sports) is fabulous. I think you might find that Chelsea and City's success is due to their owners.

I think that you may find that a bent Ruski and a bunch of well to do Arabs only own those clubs because of the global appeal of the Premier League.

And the start of that was Sky.

The youth cup final 2nd leg on the turf,1968,winning 2-0 and 3-2 on aggregate....running onto the pitch when they did a lap with the cup aloft and trying to touch it....

York to seal the championship with the last kick of the game. When it looked like we had blown it and had to wait another game.

I wonder if anyone walked out of the ground that night before the end?

Wembley and Ewood, obvs. But also a weird one that stuck in my mind as a childhood memory.

88/89 season, following Sherpa Van final and we’d got off to a flyer, up near the top of the league. As a youngster I thought this was it and we’d walk the league. Then we played Lincoln City on a Tuesday night and got absolutely destroyed 4-1.

Not sure why I remember that one, but it set the tone for another three seasons of misery.

Could be Reading away or Preston in the sherpa van. Two great nights and also many others. I support a small town club, with a great history which I am proud of. But one which also sticks in my brain is Darlington at home can't remember the year, but was dubbed by the Express as "the cauldron of hate", can anybody remember that one.

Weirdly maybe, but Blackpool away in the promotion season under Coyle. Hideous weather, a stand that felt like it was about to disintegrate, and Christian Kalvenes scoring the only goal five minutes from time in a match devoid of anything even approaching dynamic football. Why it always comes to mind, I don't know - maybe it was the first time when I properly thought 'we can do this'. Dared to dream if you will...

For me it's the 3-0 defeat of Napoli in the Fairs Cup. It was a night match with a tremendous atmosphere, especially in the old cricket field end when it was still terraced. An unforgettable night.

Beating united 1-0 at home with THAT Robbie Blake goal. The beast's save, Rooney losing his head, it was a hot day, unbelievable atmosphere. Had to go work the next day absolutely dying. Felt like a high point in my Burnley supporting career until Dyche took us up again

Preston at home in 2010,and that mad 10 minutes, when Iwelumo briefly became Ronaldo, capped off by Jay notching the injury time winner, probably the one high point of Law's reign.

Watching my two young lads invade the pitch against QPR, and seeing the pure pure unadulterated joy on their faces will surpass all the fantastic memorable matches I’ve watched in the last fifty odd years.
