Sheff U away in the FA cup '93. Went with my dad and his 2 mates. I was only 15 but thought I was the dogs bollix.

Chesterfield away on new year's Day 92' won 2-0. Felt like we had half the ground.

Yes that sounds more like it. Its annoyed me for years and has taken a thread called games you'll always remember, to remind me of a game I can just about remember, but can't remember why. Perhaps I should see the doctor.

Anyway I remember the elation of the Akinbiyi at Chelsea and the subsequent penalty shoot out.

88/89 season, following Sherpa Van final and we’d got off to a flyer, up near the top of the league. As a youngster I thought this was it and we’d walk the league. Then we played Lincoln City on a Tuesday night and got absolutely destroyed 4-1.

Not sure why I remember that one, but it set the tone for another three seasons of misery.

That was the game Lincoln brought on a sub named Willie Gamble. Lots of laughter around the ground. They murdered us on the pitch.

Wow what a topic - probably for me it would be the Sherpa Van final at Wembley against Wolves as I always dreamed of watching the Clarets at Wembley.

My choices, probably based on sentiment/ emotion

Hard to pick, hopefully have a new one to add this season.

Orient.

Aside from the obvious Orient game and Wembley v Sheff Utd it has to be getting beat by Eintracht Frankfurt in 1967. We drew the first match in Germany and I was so confident we would win on the Turf. I can still remember, clearly to this day, walking off the Turf on that April night where I had been stood behind the goals on the Cricket Field End thinking how did that happen. We got beat 1-2.

Reading in the playoffs. Driving home believing that Wembley should just be a formality.

QPR at home in 2016. Game played later on in the day. By the time it kicked off, results in the Brighton and Middlesbrough games meant that we only needed a win to secure Automatic Promotion.
A tense game ensued. QPR, who’d done the square root of sweet FA all season, sensed their moment and really came at us. The usual dirty foul on Joey Barton came and went, barely punished, in the first ten minutes, and the game was away.
We nicked a brilliant goal from a set piece in the second half, courtesy of the superb Sam Vokes. He’d missed our promotion match against Wigan, two seasons earlier, through injury. It seemed quite apt that he should score the goal to seal our Promotion.
The game wasnt over, mind. Within minutes of taking the lead, QPR smashed a shot against the post. The rebound could have gone anywhere, but we managed to scramble it clear.
At the final whistle, relief and celebration about the ground. I smiled inside. For weeks there’d been chatter on Messageboards between Brighton and Boro fans that their final game, at the Riverside, would be a stitch-up between the pair of them to leave us marooned in the Play-Offs. Now both of these Pretenders would have to take that game far more seriously.

Twice in my life I’ve seen Burnley Promoted to the Top Flight in an automatic position. I never thought I’d see us promoted there by the Play-Offs, but that dream came true. I thought Automatic Promotion was just a pipe dream, and a Championship Title, just pure fantasy.

Odd this one but probably Chelsea 2 Leeds 1 FA Cup Final 1970.

I'd seen the Clarets lose a 4th round replay 1-3 against Chelsea at the Turf where Coates was sensational, and where John Collins had kicked lumps out of him all night, eventually wearing him down. I'd no love for Chelsea then....but they were playing Leeds in the final, that anti-football team of thugs and miscreants, under the odious stewardship of Don Readies.

I was delighted that Chelsea out dirtied dirty Leeds in the final. Seem to recall Peter Osgood heading in the equaliser whilst his marker Jack Charlton had gone looking for Ian Hutchison to exact revenge for some minor indiscretion, and for Hunter the biter; bit. A happy day.

I could put up with Chelsea after that.

Obviously Maine Rd May 1960. Actually dont remember a huge amount about the game but the drive back to Burnley through Rawtenstall was simply unbelievable. What a night for a 12 year year old.

It was Ron "Chopper" Harris who was kicking lumps out of "Chunky."

The last game of the 72-73 season at Deepdale. Terrible game but will always remember it, probably due to my age. First title win as well.

York was a fantastic night. As was Chelsea in the cup.

Home win against Cardiff in 92. Just the feeling of Yes! We are going to do this. There were Mexican waves ( I think )

Luton Town at home during the 20 odd winless streak under Cotterill.

BORED OUT OF MY FACE. doesn't even begin to describe how I felt.

PNE away Sherpa Van 1988, simply because less than 12 months after Orient, Burnley were off to Wembley for the first time in my life.

One not mentioned yet is Charlton away 2016, the game we went 23 23 undefeated and won the Championship. It was the first time my then 10 year old son had run on the pitch in celebration. Great day

That was the game when a bunch of Darlington fans were at the bottom of our side of the longside by the fence. They took a bit of a kicking but they were saved by the police who got them out and into the Bee Hole End only for them to receive a kicking there too.

My first trip to Ewood to support my home town team...

It was my first away game and I remember it for the sheer amazement of all the agro after the game which was common place in those days. We’ve come a long way since then as football fans.
