Central midfield
Central midfield
Just a thought thinking of central midfielders.
Aaron Mooys of Huddersfield was outstanding for the Terriers
last season. He's on his final year surely he is worth a bid.

Re: Central midfield
I agree. He is the only midfielder I can think of that we could probably afford , is available ish, seems to have a decent attitude and would add something different to our squad.
I genuinely can’t pick any others out from anywhere.

But I’d like to think we have been thinking outside the box and have a few irons in the fire overseas. Highly doubt it though.

Re: Central midfield
Maybe the Terriers will respond when we send our desperation email next week. Seriously Mooy is sp obviously the man we should have gone for.
Re: Central midfield
He may be on £1K a week more than our wage limit which will price us out.

Aye I’m sure they take training every day and think...ye running with 3 central midfielders will work for sure, let’s just get another centre half and a keeper just in case eh?!Corky wrote:Everyone on the planet apart from our Manager and Board, it seems like.
Perhaps we are biding our time to try to get the best quality in that we possibly can?

As for a youngster, Jamie Shackleton of Leeds.

Mooy is a cover every blade midfielder, just like Westy and no better.
We need a ball winning organiser. To put some fire in their bellies. A new Joey Barton.

I'd have Mooy. Would be a good signing. Loads of people on here have suggested him in the past. It wasn't realistic in January but should be now.

Strange one Mooy, thought there would have been lots of clubs in for him but it's been strangely quiet,he's to good for the Championship, hope we make a move for him soon, reading today's news sadly it seems Defour is a busted flush.taio wrote:I'd have Mooy. Re: Central midfield
I think Billing was the one we should have been going for (maybe we did, who knows) - think he has the better ability and could potentially get better. Stronger in the middle of the park than Mooy and a good five years on him too. Also, didn't Mooy's form tail off quite a bit?
Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if we did make a bid as it's increasingly clear our targets aren't landing for whatever reason.
Interesting to see how the lad Birmingham signed the other day gets on - Ivan Sunjic from Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia under 21's captain, defensive midfielder, £6m. Appears to be a bit of a coup for them.

It's just the fact I suggested a player ages ago, so he replied suggesting everybody did - a weak attempt to put my predictions down. Just as he said Chris Wood was a stupid suggestion. Just as he said Charlie Taylor was a stupid suggestion. Fast forward and he'd suck them off. Anyway...Steve1956 wrote:Frank as other accounts

Eh - I never said you didn't agree that Mooy would be a good signing. You just suggested everbody said we should sign them - they didn't. In fact, I remember most saying he was too lightweight and a one season wonder.taio wrote:I agreed Mooy would be a good signing.

No - hardly anybody suggested Taylor. There was me and JDRobbo and that was it. The same with Wood as we live in Leeds and have the unfortunate chance of watching them with friends.taio wrote:I didn't say everybody. I said loads of people. Show me where all these people suggested Mooy. Hardly anybody did - and you know it. I aint spending more time on lowlife like you, so if you think I can be arsed to search through threads you can think again. At least you can troll on your own though. The majority need others to join in, so fair play for that at least.
Good day to you young man.

I'm confident there will be many because I recall loads of people suggesting him. Same with Taylor at the time. Mooy has been suggested as a transfer on this board many many times - that’s just a simple fact.
This can be such a strange board sometimes !

There was a discussion about Mooy on the transfer links thread a couple of weeks back. You're very highly strung 'Frank' with a quite odd superiority complex. Not the first time you've bigged yourself up with no real justification on here.

He’s played a few times for Leeds hasn’t he - why would many of us know anything much about him ?

Re: Central midfield
Mooy would be quality, he can deal with a ball and that is what we need going forward, he can even play in the hole like Hendrick did but with much more creativity. Pity Drinkwater will be way out of our league, he'd be perfect in our midfield.

What I like about Mooy is he can spread the ball wide, quick. He's got good vision and I feel we often are too slow in midfield getting it forward on the ground.Little_britton wrote:Mooy would be quality, he can deal with a ball and that is what we need going forward, he can even play in the hole like Hendrick did but with much more creativity. Maybe. Loads of potential though and comes with a resale value, which the board of course like. I think they'd want Vydra though, and I want us to keep him.Hedontplayforyou wrote:Shackleton - YES but far too expensive
