I understand the Calder, in your neck of the woods, is now of great concern.

Just driven Tod to Hebden Bridge and back, the river is about 3 feet below the wall (that's higher than the road) at Callis Bridge with a foot of water on the road.

Just been to check on the Calder at Padiham fire station and despite being higher than normal still has another metre or so before flooding. The drains in the town ate coping fine. So no problems at the minute.

Still raining hard though.

I remember the last time the Calder came over and left a scene of devastation in Padiham town centre. Thankfully BFC learned a lesson from that as they were also badly affected at Gawthorpe, the new buildings and the existing land were raised in height to accommodate any future problems.

That was a freak in the water table was so high and high tide prevented the rivers going into the sea as fast. The drains were overflowing.

This will just be the fields are rock hard from the heatwave so the water just runs straight off instead of soaking in properly.

The road is closed at Callis. Apparently its flooded at grandma Pollard too

Green brook and Sweetclough apparently flooding in Padiham?

Recent tweet from Burnley Council on Padiham: "This Flood Warning has been removed. River levels have peaked and are falling, with no further rise forecasted. This flood warning is therefore no longer in force. We continue to monitor the situation."

We were at Car Fest over the weekend and bailed out Sunday morning after the tent flooded. Ankle deep mud trying to get our stuff to the car park and tractors and 4x4 vehicles dragging cars out.
