This game is in the Greater Strahov stadium, now Sparta Prague's youth development centre / secondary training ground

In the old days it held 230000 for the huge gymnastics displays, and can hold 9 full size football pitches.

Macca, not sure if it's the same on your end but I'm on a mobile, I exited the full screen mode and turned off the live chat, then went back on full screen mode and the chat is hidden.

I hope the kids do well and I hope those interested in the match enjoy it. But I’ve just put this on Twitter in a reply to one of the many club tweets about this match:

“Question - rather than flooding our Twitter feeds with 100+ tweets in a day about youth football, would it not be best to have a separate account for the (relative) few who are interested? Same for the U23s. Can’t unfollow or will miss big 1st team announcements.”

I’m curious to see if I’m in a minority on this one, having to spend time wading unnecessarily through a huge feed during a tea break. Seems an obvious solution.

They do have a separate twitter account but for some reason decided to stop using it at the end of 2016. Other clubs do use an academy account and I think it works much better.

I don't think you will miss anything by unfollowing though. :D

Lost 1-0, but noticeable that seven of the Besiktas team were older than our oldest player.

I enjoyed watching that. The lads were very competitive against generally older opposition. Though I was concerned that our number 11 seemed to be Jimmy Clitheroe's little brother.

That's Tremaine Eastmond - I've not seen him play as yet other than in these games but I've heard good things about him. The little ones are often the better players too.

The biggest problem I have seen with the whole tournament has been the number of times the officials have stopped physical contact and have given fouls when fair tackles have been made. The least bit of contact seems to be penalised and this seems to be t he way that the game is going and, obviously, if you can drill it into lads at this level that contact os going to be punished it will disappear out of the game completely, perhaps that is what the modern fan desires.

I didn't see the first game when the referee apparently had a mare, but I don't think the game will ever go as far in this country as it does elsewhere.

Mare is a bit of an understatement. I kind of hope my "feedback" wasnt picked up by the mic's too much.

Still, Sparta v Palmeiras in the final tomorrow at 5pm uk time is worth a watch if only for Palmeiras's Striker Fabricio who looks to be a cut above

I sincerely hope not, however, the directives going out from those running the game do make me wonder and it would appear that the gap between what is acceptable in the UK and what is acceptable in European football is getting wider ---and that will not please UEFA or FIFA and could well lead to bigger problems in European and World Competitions ---not just for players but also for officials.
It will be interesting to see what, if any, instructions are given to the various academies in an endeavour to standardise things by education.

I can see why it’s happening and why the bigger clubs will be the ones for it which means it’ll no doubt be pushed through. When players are costing 100mil and earning 200k a week - clubs won’t want them being tackled and having them potentially out injured for any period of time will be bad for the media too where no doubt a lot of the big viewing figures come from countries who tune in to just watch the big players.

I don’t agree with it and it would probably be the thing that would put me off watching football if all the physicality went out of it.
