Thank you Burnley Football Club

Post by Hbclaret007 » Mon Jul 29, 2019 11:47 am

My mother sadly passed away earlier this month and Friday was her funeral. She was born in Todmorden and we held a service in the town before travelling to the crematorium in Burnley. She was a life-long Burnley supporter (90 years old) and we had booked the club for the wake. The hearse and cortege travelled past Turf Moor and as we passed there must have been at least 30 members of staff outside paying their respect.

This was a really wonderful gesture and very emotional. She would have been absolutely delighted and so pleased by this tremendous mark of respect from the club where she spent so many happy hours.

It says so much about our great club. Well done Burnley FC!

It’s little things like this that go along way and makes us fans feel part of the club, a touch of class from Burnley FC.

Brilliant story and very sorry to hear about your mum. I posted on here after the Fulham "in-memoriam" game about the way the club went the extra mile after, unfortunately, my dad's name was unfortunately misspelt in the programme. They actually had it re-printed correctly and sent to myself and my brother. We are a very special club in this day and age of corporate, impersonal big money sport.

Sorry for your loss.

In the past, our club hasn't always got things right, and I have been quick to blast them, but they certainly got this right.

Proud to be a claret.

Fabulous effort by BFC. It shows that they can get things right when it really matters.

Football is one thing, but the precious life of a loved one is on a whole new level.

Sorry to hear of your sad loss.
