Schadenfreude
No he is not some central midfielder from Dusseldorf.
Who would you most like to see fail in our league this year and why. For me it's Villa. Fed up of hearing the back where we belong, a bit too much like mighty Leeds for me. Add to that the fact they have burned over £100 million.

Newcastle, just for the laughs, plus they're another club who various media types think should be challenging the top 6, a section of their fans think the same.

Utd simply because it's Utd and it would be funny to watch them get replaced in the top 6 by someone like Everton.

Re: Schadenfreude
City would be fun for a season If they won nothing. But it would only lead to despair as more FFP dodging oil money is pumped in next season.
United has been enjoyable but flogging a dead horse gets tired.
I'd like to see Wolves struggle with Europa and the league given so many pundits and fans said top 6 was on the cards.

Re: Schadenfreude
West Ham getting relegated would be karma, the taxpayers funded their multi-million pound brand spanking new stadium, therefore allowing them additional funds to improve their playing squad.
Also it might shut Danny flippin Dyer up for a while.

Re: Schadenfreude
A relegation trio that contained Leicester and Brighton along with the highly unlikely but we can live in hope third spot of any from Liverpooland Man Utd would be incredible and wonderful.

Re: Schadenfreude
Wolves. Fans gave it the big one a few times last season but you get the feeling there’s a bit of a house of cards situation there especially when the manager leaves.
Brighton too. Very sneering and condescending about us. Very self righteous. Have a feeling they could struggle this season. Over reliant on Murray last time out.

If Villa survive this season, some might say £100million well invested.

One of the "big 6" would be hilarious.... send shock waves through football, and a financial explosion. For that reason i'd go Arsenal. Spurs would be very entertaining also with the luvvy London Spurs media outlets.

Re: Schadenfreude
If they dont they should be as worried as Fulham. High contract prices, little revenue in comparison in the EFL spells trouble. Its ok buying 10 players at over 100 mill but those ten players will be demanding upwards of 40k a week. Thats a conservative shout at 1.6 mill a month wages on your NEW players. I know their owners are really wealthy but relegation and an embargo could see a Pompey worst case scenario or Leicester / Southampton best place, who went down, went bankrupt to get back. Its a risky path.LoveCurryPies wrote:If Villa survive this season, some might say £100million well invested.

I'm still hoping Villa implode. Since starting this thread Mr Heaton joined their ranks and their fans continue to irritate with their 'we are a massive club' living in the past nonsense.

Re: Schadenfreude
To be fair I've always liked Villa (and not because they play in Claret) so I hope they do well - my choice would be, without a doubt, that bloody awful 'big club' who have never been Champions the 'Ammers. The biggest over-hyped club in the history of the game with a set of loud mouthed 'orrible fans who you would think support the Real Madrid of England. I got almost as much satisfaction from their result on Saturday as I did from ours.
Don't ask why - I just don't like 'em. I think it MIGHT be the that I remember when half their team were England internationals without themselves actually being that good. Terrible whining accent as well. Okay, I'll shut up now.

Re: Schadenfreude
Something like Citeh's owner getting bored and walking away mid December, would be nice.
Restore them back to the doldrums of treading water in the championship again. Something similar to what Chelski are experiencing.

Re: Schadenfreude
Sadly I think City now have the infrastructure in place to stay a top 4 club even if the owner walked.
I'd enjoy seeing Brighton and Leicester go down.

Re: Schadenfreude
Chelsea are hardly in the doldrums after one bad result. They finished third and won a European trophy last year. It wouldn't surprise me to see them above Man Utd at the end of this season either.Darthlaw wrote:Something like Citeh's owner getting bored and walking away mid December, would be nice.
