They all seem to have worn jumpers most of the game though.

Not neccessary in the 5 day game. The players are out there long enough to get to know who they are.

This should be the last test Moeen Ali plays for England.

He's awful at this level.

From BBC

How's stat?!
Moeen Ali has taken 48 wickets in 12 Tests since the start of 2018 at an average of 27.33.

By comparison, Nathan Lyon has taken 59 wickets in 14 Tests at 35.61 in the same time.

And there was me thinking we led by 26, and that 2 quick wickets are just part of the ebb and flow of test cricket........

Broad and Woakes have regained England's advantage somewhat with that stand of 65,Jimmy's come out at 11,let's hope his calf holds up,every run is a run the Aussies have to tick off.

That's the good, now the bad and the ugly,Bairstow and Moeen should hang their heads in shame, both look bereft of confidence,Jimmy's not looking too healthy i'm sad to report, hope he can stick in with Woakes and get the lead over 100.

Yep,at least with Moeen he might have an impact with the ball in their 2nd innings,Johnny's bringing nothing to the party ATM,if Sam Curran's available for Lord's he has to play,if nothing else he'll give the strike bowlers a breather now and then, and he's capable of a quickfire 20-30,the selection might depend on who's fit Jimmy doesn't look right, and Jofra is a ? for the 2nd test.

374 all out,a useful lead of 90,but certainly not a match-winning one yet, especially being a bowler down, lot's of bowling for Moeen and maybe even the skipper to hold up an end.

13-1 Warner gone on review, another shocker from the umpire,Broad strikes again, just what the doctor ordered for England, the sooner we can get Smith into the middle the better. :D

Cheating Warner out, caught behind off Broad of a review again. Umpires not having the best of times.

Tbf, I doubt any cricketer walks these days unless it's obvious, and you will never see players like Stokes give themselves out when they play with such intensity.

You can criticise Warner for many things but nobody walks these days,Moeen looking dangerous he's getting plenty of turn, just need to stay patient, wickets have fallen in batches during this match.

Need to keep our foot on their throat,if we nip a few more out tonight that'd be great, broad and Moeen bowling well in tandem.

Need to hold our catches as well.

Actually, at this level of cricket a lot of players walk nowadays since when it's a pretty clear nick they know that they will be embarrassed by the DRS review. They were just saying as much on TMS and felt that Warner should have walked since he must have known he'd hit it and wouldn't get away with it.
(Obviously when there's no review system then most players stand their ground).

Easier said than done, they've now gone into the lead, and he's still there, plus the rest,i wouldn't fancy chasing much over a 100 on this batting last, certainly anything over 150 and the Aussies are right in the mix.

Smith scores vast majority of runs on leg side so maybe try and pack the leg side field and try to frustrate him. Make him take some risks

It's worth a go for a couple of overs,if nothing else he'll have to change his game,of course the bowlers would have to be accurate to build pressure, but England are letting this game drift too easily, need at least 2 more tonight, and if one of those is Smith even better, but just now it's to easy.

I’ve listened to a lot of the first three days on the radio and the way they talk about Smith is verging on the ridiculous. It’s almost as if he’s never been out before in his career. Yes, he’s an excellent player but he’s not superhuman.

Warner walked in the first innings. Had he appealed by review he would have been ‘not out’.

Anderson won't be bowling today.

Also, surprised to read the following on the BBC website regarding Moeen Ali being the leading wicket taker:
"Moeen Ali bowled a couple of nice overs, got a wicket, but was expensive yesterday. England will really need him to deliver today.

And, yes, his batting is shocking at the moment. But remember Moeen is the top wicket-taker in Test cricket over the last 12 months."

It'd be an excellent day for Moeen Ali to bowl well and get a few wickets. Good for us in the situation of this game and to bolster his confidence for the rest of the series.
His confidence seems a but fragile often but he generally bounces back with some good performances. Fingers crossed he can pick up 3 or 4 today.

A couple of quick wickets and England are back in the game, but this partnership is becoming dangerous.

Lead's already nearly 80,and they've got plenty of power to add sadly.

It's not out of the question this could yet end in a draw, depends how long the Aussies go on batting.

You have to wonder why Jofra's deemed fit to field, and yet he wasn't deemed fit to bowl, very costly decision going with Jimmy.

30+ overs until the new ball, and they're looking comfortable, need a touch of magic from someone.

If this pair are still together at lunch.it could be a long afternoon for England.
