Our new number one

Post by IWOODLOVETT » Thu Aug 01, 2019 10:35 am

Thought for the day - while you’re dozing through the early overs of the Ashes.

Could we have, for the first time ever, an outfield player with number 1 on his back? Would this be a first for the Prem. or even worldwide?

Argentina in 78 and 82 had players numbered in alphabetical order - so Ardilles was 1. Apart from Maradona who was 10.

On a kind of similar topic, I often think could our keeper not wear our home shirt when we change into the away/third one for no apparent reason - no real colour clash?
