It takes time this transfer malarky. Rigg will be up and running at full speed about the same time as Defour.

I think it's more in line with the thinking that we had this unveiling of a staff member who's job was purported to be to help us with recruitment as that's what his bread and butter is and so far we've got Rodriguez who's an obvious choice and Pieters from our feeder club.

Absolutely. Two transfer windows and zero recruitment really.

If that is his role, he has failed miserably thus far.

Joking apart, unfair to lay this on Rigg...or any others if truth be known. We are what we are, we all remember the dark days, including those at the top table. Their primary task is to keep us financially healthy, if you look thru the last 4 years then its job done. Banging the same drum, we will only move on with outside finance, which wont happen...so let's enjoy our days in the sun !!

The best way of keeping us financially healthy is continued membership of the Premier League

It’s a fair question really. Seems a fair easy job, especially if you don’t actually have to recruit any players. Wonder what salary he’s on?

Whatever his role is, it seems like brilliant work if you can get it. (And people think teachers have a cushy number!!)

He signed Sergio Aguero for Man City (not that he was an unknown at the time, mind)

I’d imagine that his job is to oversee the identification of players.

If Dyche doesn’t want them or the board won’t fund them, then what can he do?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we sign almost all of our players from half a dozen clubs currently in the Championship. It’s a clearly a market Dyche trusts and Garlick will fund.

In any event, Rigg has already said that his primary focus is on Academy/U23 squad recruitment.

I'm sure that he's like a duck on the water.

Above the water all is calm and serene, but under
the water he'll be paddling away like a man possessed.

Here's hoping that the analogy is accurate.
