Has anyone else seen this thread concering our 'Feeder' club?

Bound to happen, Phillips is about our level and Leeds nurture our star players,I would be happy with this one.

This would be a superb signing, worth breaking the bank for in my opinion. Strong, fast, aggressive, young, can play a bit. Perfect box to box midfielder for us.

As has been said on the other thread, would be a terrific signing but we've left it far too late to get him.

He's a quality midfielder, would surely want to move to the Premier League, and Bielsa is a big fan of Vydra.

I don't want Vydra to leave unless it's for a player like Phillips.

I don't think we've left it too late.

Please let us keep signing Leeds best players. It is hilarious in our office.

We'll see, Frank, but we've got until Thursday evening to get it done. I can't see it happening at this late stage.

It's too tight for us to agree a fee (even longer if Burnley are involved!), for Leeds to get a replacement and then it's complicated further if Vydra is indeed involved in any deal.

Keep Vydra, and just stump up the cash.

It's defence that Leeds need to strengthen and they get Vydra and cash to spend in that department. They have also done late deals in the past.

Bielsa certainly a fan of Vydra which could go in our favour.

Vydra isn't wanted or needed anyway to get him out of the club is a bonus and if Phillips comes the other way that would be great business

Bielsa in Sunday Times ‘I have a lot of confidence with the squad that I have at the moment,’ the Argentinian said. ’We have three players for each position. Even though there are not 33 players, we have 18 players that are good enough to play in three positions differently.’

maybe he will be ready to trade one of their "three players for each position"....

What if we've been working on a deal for a while but the story has only just broken in the media. Would it still be too late to get him?

Yes because some guy above says so. Multiple times. On multiple threads.

Just my opinion.

Roofe is off to Anderlecht apparently (Hart is also being tapped up by them) Vincent Kompany wants him.

So Vydra would be a good fit at Leeds with Phillips coming this way.

Bid of Vydra plus £11m or "Round about that" per Nixon. That must value KP at circa £20m?

UTC!

If we get him I'll hold my hands up.

Deals take ages to complete though and seems like recent interest.

If, as reported, an offer is in then Burnley have set the ball rolling. First offers are usually knocked back. If he's as good as some on here say then Burnley have to get him.

They want 30 mil for Phillips.

Sounds like they want their cake and eat it and keep him whilst getting Vydra.

I like him but he's only had one good season and is unproven at PL level. I always thought he was a red card waiting to happen but he looked more disciplined
and noticably leaner and fitter last season. 20 is plenty imo but it's Leeds prerogative. I don't see him rocking the boat to leave either. On balance, I don't see it happening.

UTC!

At 29, you'd think he is similar to Cork regards his style and attributes may only be there for a season or 2.

Could be another useful 2 year stop gap, but I'd much rather be breaking our transfer record on someone with either there best 5 years ahead of them, time to develop and improve, possibly sell on for a bigger fee and not be just dead money.

My bad.
then yes, thats exactly the type/age of a player we should be looking st and possibly breaking our transfer record on.

Would be happy with Phillips. Plenty of energy and snap to his play. He’s Dyche like in his work rate and defensive responsibilities but he can also ping a few through balls.

Would be disappointed to see Vydra go as I feel he has something, but Dyche is never going to play him so good deal all round .

If our interest is true, it’s now far too late.

It’s extremely rare for a club to cave in and sell a key player this late in the window without it involving astronomical figures.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that Leeds have already sold a number of players this summer without replacing them and it’d be suicidal from a PR perspective to sell Phillips now.
