That lad on the right isn't a burnley player!
They should have turfed him from the syndicate instead of fraternising with the enemy!

Very good ... nice to see Vokesy still a Claret (even if it is just the syndicate )

And from a breeding aspect it doesn't get much better than that.Local cricketer wrote:The other horse is sired by No Nay Never
No Nay Never won the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2013 before going one better the following year and winning a Group 1 race in France. Our lads could have some great days ahead with their new horse.
Dandeclaret will know all about No Nay Never.

This sort of thing highlights the close relationships in the squad which is great to see. Even the legend that is Vokesy involved and keeping links to the clarets. Once a claret always a claret

Re: Moor Turf racing syndicate ( our players own )
I was at Chester races today with my wife, kids and the in laws. I backed Breathalyse as the jockey wore Claret and Blue. As they approached the pens, the P A said that the horse was from More Turf Racing. Of course I was interested even more so now....
Needless to say Breathalyse smashed it... I was well chuffed. We walked over to the Paddock as my mother in law loves horses and wanted to see the winner. We arrived at the exact time that Chris Wood, Nick Pope, James Tarkowski, Jack Cork and Sam Vokes left the winners enclosure. We told them we are Burnley fans and they were absolutely superb, they chatted to us for 5 mins, had loads of pictures and were again a credit to Burnley Football Club. They were so good with my kids (and wife) who love them. Terrific show once again. They look ridiculously physically fit and strong.
Brilliant again from the lads.
Wood said he couldn't wait to get started next week and carry on the form. Tarkowski was well and truly one of the lads seemed happy..... hope he stays.

Nothing better than being part of having a horse win at the races and especially something as personal as you experienced yesterday.
We should buy a horse on here and set up a small syndicate.

Re: Moor Turf racing syndicate ( our players own )
The two directors of More Turf are Jack and Freya Cork
Looks as if it has been in business since March 2019
So our Jack may be following in the traditions of Michael Owen and Shannon

Re: Moor Turf racing syndicate ( our players own )
Breathalyze came 3rd (of 9) in its first race (at Doncaster in late June), then this good Chester win in a Class 4 race. Looks like it has a provisional entry for the 2.25 at York, 22nd August. That race is 6F again but a Class 2 race so stiffer competition if it actually runs; I believe that's Ladies Day in the Ebor festival.
The horse's sire (Bated Breath) was a fairly handy 5/6f runner and has a lot of winners amongst its many offspring so there's every hope for a few more Breathalyze wins, worth following anyway.

Re: Moor Turf racing syndicate ( our players own )
Just having a browse of tomorrows race-cards at Chester & Sandown & see Breathalyze is down as a starter at Chester. First race there (13.35), a 7F race for 2 year olds. It looks like it'll be favourite of the 6 horses at about 2-1.
As it happens, there's a No Nay Never sired filly also in that race (Dirty Dancer).
Hopefully, the syndicate can start the afternoon with a nice win down there before the main business of the day.
