According to some papers he's actually furious that they have to play on Friday night when they only played there last game of the season on June 1st. that's a mere ten weeks ago ffs and to make it worse some of their rivals don't play 'til Sunday. "Oh dear how sad never mind". Think he might be getting his excuses in early.

After our first promotion it was a little disappointing to have to wait until the Monday to play our first game - although admittedly it was worth it in the end

I’m not talking about pre/post season tournaments or recovery time. I just think that the season should start on the same day & time for all the teams in the league just like it ends for everyone

Exactly. If his players were remotely tired and in need of a break, he wouldn't have taken them to play three games in high summer in the USA. Unless no-one told him how hot it gets over there? Perhaps he didn't realise there are internet weather sites that could have helped him out.

He’s not going to publicly criticise the club for their commercial decision to play a pre-season tournament in the USA. For all we know he may have done so behind closed doors.
