And one year they will be right but so far the media have collectively scored zero from four in constantly predicting our relegation.

They've got Tottenham below arsenal and utd, can't see that happening this season.

Newcastle without Perez and Rafa will be in bottom 3
Norwich and Sheff Utd will be in bottom 3
Palace if Wilf goes will do down
Villa despite Tom will struggle in bottom 4
Saints Brightonand Bournemouth will provide one of the relegation spots
We will finish around 10th higher if we get our speedy winger and tough tackling playmaker in cm

Can’t see SheffU,Norwich,BHA,B’mouth,Newcastle & Villa finishing above us. Any higher wouldn’t be a shock but would be welcome. 10th is pushing it.

If Tarkowski goes we could be in trouble. We seem to go from one transfer window to the next without making any significant signings that will strengthen our starting 11.
Can't see United finishing in the top 6. Sole star will do well to see out the year

Based on current transfer business can't really argue with those predictions
Between us, Brighton and Bournemouth

Based on what?

Our current eleven displayed Europa league form in the second half of last season, and based on the recent friendlies looks like we are continuing to play good football.

Personally, I wouldn’t read too much into the views of a pundit who thinks Utd will finish third next season.

If we lose Tarkowski and Long, as we go into the season, that could cause a lot of damage. They are part of a well oiled machine.

Bournemouth, Norwich and Brighton to go down for me. Possibly swap Newcastle with one of those.

We should be top ten. Good season for the mighty clarets.

Not sure about the current odds but on 29 July William Hill prices for Relegation were

Sheffield Utd 4/6
Norwich 10/11
Burnley 2/1
Brighton 2/1
Newcastle 2/1
Aston Villa 2/1

The Ladbrokes prices for the above clubs was the same as at 29 July

On a different thread reference was made to a TV programme airing on Wednesday "Can you beat the Bookies"?

Not at those odds on offer you can't.

Odds also on offer of 6/1 for Burnley to finish bottom of the pile and just 4/11 to stay up and 1/16 for a Bottom Half Finish.

Cheers that looks about right with Sheff Utd Norwich the worst two teams then probably one of us, Villa, Newcastle and Brighton to go down with them

Going off odds the bottom 3 are Burnley, Norwich and Sheffield United.

We've been favourites for relegation every one of the last 5 seasons by the way.

And the other seasons too. They've put us to go down every season we've stayed up. At one point we were 3/11 to go down.

This is good for us - let us be the underdogs. Absolutely fine by me.

Sporting Index points spread are usually a better guide and they have us 16th, ahead of Newcastle, Brighton, Norwich and Sheff Utd

Are there 3 worse teams than us? I’d say so:-
Sheffield Utd
Norwich
Brighton
Villa

So we shouldn’t be in trouble. Expect a finish in the bottom half but as long as no lower than 17th it’s all good.
Seem to be pretty sharp as well if the last two home friendlies anything to go off

Cardiff 4/6
Huddersfield 6/5
Fulham 7/4
Watford 2/1
Brighton 5/2
Burnley 7/2

I’d swap us and Brighton around, unless we improve the first 11 we’re just treading water and making up the numbers. Some would say we deserve relegation for not spending any of the PL income on suitable players.

They might not be spot on, but it's correct in that those five teams were shorter odds for relegation than Burnley.
