Huddersfield v Rams
Going for Derby on this one they might be boosted by the Rooney rumour.

Shocking defending for 0-1, not a clue what he was attempting to do

Mooy having a poor game. Seen by many on here as the answer to our midfield problems. Doesn't look fit and giving the ball away far too often.

I like him but reportedly on 55k a week, plus whatever you would have to pay for him, makes him very expensiveClaretincraven wrote:Mooy having a poor game. Seen by many on here as the answer to our midfield problems. Doesn't look fit and giving the ball away far too often.
Re: Huddersfield v Rams
Relegation hangover is a real thing, Huddersfield have one of the best sides on paper but I wouldn’t be surprised if their manager was the first to be sacked.Claretincraven wrote:Mooy having a poor game. Re: Huddersfield v Rams
Mooy is over rated, over paid and is (in the right place) over the Pennines

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
That Derby player Clarke is an interesting concept. A centre back that can play on the wing and take on other players, but equally a strong physical centre back.

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
If Udders lose tonight all 3 relegated sides will have drawn a blank on the opening weekend, shows the gap isn't that big between the top 6-8 in the Championship, and the lower half of the PL.KRBFC wrote:Relegation hangover is a real thing, Huddersfield have one of the best sides on paper but I wouldn’t be surprised if their manager was the first to be sacked.
I wouldn't be if none of the relegated trio made the play-offs this season, the Championship is a heavy slog, and if you're not up for a battle teams will turn you over.

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
I'd agree Siewert seems to be on borrowed time and only a very good start is likely to save him - rumours of dressing-room unrest going back to soon after his appointment last season.
That being said Nathan Jones might give him a run for his money in terms of the first Championship manager out of a job.

He's on loan from BHA. They signed him from pompey in this transfer window.wickdkewlclaret wrote:That Derby player Clarke is an interesting concept. A centre back that can play on the wing and take on other players, but equally a strong physical centre back.

Mooy come out a different player 2nd half, doesn’t look fit to me. Normally so calm and doesn’t give the ball away

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
Not a bad effort from Mooy.
Re: Huddersfield v Rams
The gap is pretty big it’s just the relegation hangover and sides having to cut their cloth makes it seem like it’s not.tiger76 wrote:If Udders lose tonight all 3 relegated sides will have drawn a blank on the opening weekend, shows the gap isn't that big between the top 6-8 in the Championship, and the lower half of the PL.

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
That's their problem.
The can play some good stuff, can Udders.
Until it comes to actually scoring.

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
Good defensive showing from Derby there. They look a decent side.
Huddersfield looked clumsy and lethargic. I too think their manager is a few games away from the sack.

Re: Huddersfield v Rams
That cost cutting is a factor, but of the 3 relegated teams the season before last only WBA even made the play-offs,both Stoke and Swansea struggled to adjust to life in the 2nd tier,Villa took 3 years to escape, and Leeds have been down there for an eternity, even Burnley prior to Sean's appointment where languishing in mid-table or worse.KRBFC wrote:The gap is pretty big it’s just the relegation hangover and sides having to cut their cloth makes it seem like it’s not.
There is a number of teams that have bounced back at the 1st time of asking, but interestingly not many in recent seasons.
Crystal Palace 92/93
Nottingham Forest 92/93
Leicester City 94/95
Bolton Wanderers 95/96
Nottingham Forest 96/97
Middlesbrough 96/97
Charlton Athletic 98/99
Manchester City 00/01
Leicester City 01/02
West Brom 02/03
Birmingham City 05/06
Sunderland 05/06
Birmingham City 07/08
Newcastle United 08/09
West Brom 08/09
West Ham 10/11
QPR 12/13
Norwich 13/14
Burnley 14/15
Newcastle United 15/16
So no-one's done it since the Geordies 3 seasons ago, that suggests it even more important to maintain your seat at the top table.

I'd ask Derby for a Lawrence Vydra swap deal !
