The one off the platforms between top and bottom tier.
Think they were mandatory for being in the premier league, but think were quickly scrapped as the view from the back is far better.
Not seen them used for ages.

They were put there for 3D tv from memory as that angle made 3D better.

They were put in place for 3D. Not sure why they used them for the Chelsea game.MACCA wrote:The one off the platforms between top and bottom tier.

Re: That weird camera angle v Chelsea
I think they were maybe installed for the 3D cameras in order to provide a better angle for the 3D perspective. 3D seems to have gone away and, hence perhaps the need to use the gantry.

The match referred to was the first after the gantry had been put in place.BurningBeard wrote:I think they were maybe installed for the 3D cameras in order to provide a better angle for the 3D perspective. 3D seems to have gone away and, hence perhaps the need to use the gantry.

Wish they would remove them. They block the view of the near touch line from where I sit.

I hate how every goal scored at that end just has the away support in view (on the initial shot)

There were in installed initially as the new camera positions for television and 3D broadcasting, but the LED boards blocked the Barclays advertising on the Bob Lord Stand and it wasn’t used again

Really liked that angle. Current one is slightly too high.
