Using mobile in Turkey..recommendations?
Off to Turkey in a few weeks. First time. I am looking at how i can use my mobile over there whilst not being charged a fortune in roaming charges. I have looked into data packages and they seem quite expensive for how much you get. I have also looked into Pocket Wifi (Alldaywifi and Rentnconnect) which seem a very good option. Getting a Turkish sim is another but seems long winded.
Anyone any expertise or knowledge in this? Tips appreciated.

Most hotels/bars/restaurants have WiFi so you can just use that?Somethingfishy wrote:Off to Turkey in a few weeks. First time. Don’t worry, roaming charges no longer apply in the EU and Turkey must have joined by now.

I am in an all inclusive resort and the wifi is reviewed as being patchy and only any good around the reception area. i mainly want it for my streaming music so ideally want it by the pool and in my room. I basically need something more reliable.bfccrazy wrote:Most hotels/bars/restaurants have WiFi so you can just use that?

If only for music then buy spotify for a month about £8/10 I think. You can download what you want in the app and then stream it when you’re off line.Somethingfishy wrote:I am in an all inclusive resort and the wifi is reviewed as being patchy and only any good around the reception area. i mainly want it for my streaming music so ideally want it by the pool and in my room. If you're with Vodafone it's all free in Turkey.
I was there last year.
We're going there again at the beginning of September.

Been to Turkey a few times and always used the note Wi-Fi.. for music I just downloaded it all onto my phone my amazon music that I use daily.. be careful as my husband has his data roaming on when we landed by accident and they tried charging him a fortune even though he didn’t use his internet.. also depends on which phone provider you’re with
