Jimmy Robson and Willie Irvine
WELCOME BACK WILLIE
I've just seen this pic on twitter posted by Jimmy's daughter Dany. Two wonderful goalscorers, but how good is it to see Willie looking so good after his recent accident.

Willie Irvine -the reason why I support Burnley.
Great to see him looking so well. And wearing his NornIron top!

Re: Jimmy Robson and Willie Irvine
I took Willie down to the Turf and stay with him until he decides he wants to go home. Also sat together with them at the same table was former full back Fred Smith. While Willie looks well in a photo, he's still a poorly man and a long way off a full recovery.
I pick him up each Wednesday and take him out for a couple of hours, to give Rita the chance to unwind and she knows I'm looking after him.

I don't think anyone would expect anything else. I just thought it was brilliant to see him down there today.Bfc wrote:While Willie looks well in a photo, he's still a poorly man and a long way off a full recovery.
Re: Jimmy Robson and Willie Irvine
Brought back some great goals as I sat back remembering the matches I watched these two brilliant clarets playing home and away.

First Burnley game I ever watched was away at Tottenham in 1966 in the FA Cup

Thank you Bfc. My mum appreciates each second and my dad enjoys the change. I'll catch up with you hopefully on Saturday.Bfc wrote:I took Willie down to the Turf and stay with him until he decides he wants to go home. Still remember that goal Willie scored just before half time at cricket field end in that 6-2 drubbing of Chelsea. Piece of individual brilliance!

Re: Jimmy Robson and Willie Irvine
They only scored 197 goals between them for Burnley - I'd start with both of them I think

Re: Jimmy Robson and Willie Irvine
Spoke to Willie and Rita in town a couple of weeks ago. They were neighbours when I lived in Worsthorne when their lads were just kids...He did look well but he is still not back to his old self but at least he had a smile on his face and said he was hoping to make it onto the first match.
A very fine footballer was Willie, along with Lochead my two Burnley legends

Great to see both genial old buffers with a twinkle in their eyes.
