Arsenal agree fee for David Luiz

Spurs apparently in for Dybala, Sessegnon and Lo Celso

Lukaku's off to Inter Milan

Will Burnley swoop in with any last minute deals?

And more importantly, will we keep all our first team together...

If Burnley get the player we need to add some depth in midfield and ship out Nakhi Wells and Vydra it will have been a decent enough window given financial constraints etc.

I would be concerned about shipping out Wells and Vydra as I would like four forwards.

Maybe they're fed up being bench warmers, and actually want to play, particularly Vydra who is clearly not in Sean's thoughts even as an impact sub.

Wouldn't be fussed about Wells leaving but I'd really like to see Vydra given a chance; along with Wood, Barnes and Jay, that's a really good, mixed front four to choose from. Alas, it appears very unlikely that it will happen.

We play with 2 strikers, going into the season with 3 is asking for trouble.

Absolutely. We need a minimum of 4. Ideally, 4 plus a youth player who can make the bench in cup games with the possibility of minutes.

Looking back at who has and who hasn't played up front, I can't see having three is asking for any trouble.

I think we have probably done our bargain basement dealing for this window. Going to have a nice bottle of beer in the sunshine before it rains.

What about injuries etc? Surely we need 4 for every position especially strikers with a 442 system. It's just like cm and cb.

You bring someone else in when you have injuries - it's not like cb at all because you can change system and play with one striker should there be a crisis. I was just suggesting that it is some considerable time ago that we weren't able to play two strikers due to injuries.

1 injury, 1 suspension leaves us with just 1 forward and back to the square pegs in round holes scenario again. Hendrick playing off a striker, a couple of seasons back Arfield as central midfielder when Marney was injured. Neither of these worked......

Hendrick playing there was when we were moving up to 4th in the table. I thought it worked perfectly.

I agree i think Vydra could be an asset, but i he doesn't get a fair crack of the whip, how is he supposed to prove his worth.

Vydra isn't going to get game time and it would be best for him if he moved on I would think

Yes but that takes us away from our preferred system and probably increases the chances of injuries in future. I just don't get that people seem to think that we should take risks when can afford not to.

Yep. We're playing well with 2 up top. If Wood or Barnes gets a knock, Jay comes in. If we only have 3, then we have no forward on the bench and we have to shift our formation around and play 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1... which we'd be playing now, if it was our first choice set up.

4 forwards means we don't need to switch the system around and instead stick to what appears to be SD's preferred option.

2 for each position, hence squad size. I see what you mean about strikers though.

It's probably best for all parties if Vydra goes, some transfers just don't work out,and that's the case here,i only hope BFC can recoup most of our outlay.

The lad might as well be playing even if he drops down to the Champ, rather than twiddling his thumbs on our bench.

If we don't try we'll never know,we can offer 1st team football at PL level, and also a shop window for players hoping to impress, which both Drinkwater and Wanyama should be tempted by,i'm sure they'd rather be walking out at the Emirates next week, then rotting in the Chelsea and Spurs reserves.

We could do with Loaning Andy Carroll for the Arsenal match, to help Ashley Barnes against Luiz and Sokratis.

Could be a right royal rumble.

I don't see why not. Won't be on huge wages at Spurs and will be heading to a lower-half Premier League side. Would be a cracking signing.

I would imagine Daniel Levy would put a fairly hefty loan fee in place like he does for most Spurs players.

One has to ask the question is this the culmination of protracted negotiations, which if so is approaching brilliant, or a knee jerk reaction to a failed transfer window and a management team trying to save face.

What it would do is make a lot of people who have contributed to this and the BFC transfers thread look really, really, really stupid.
