Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
Whilst I'm sure that Mr Dyche knows far more than me about football and Wells, I still feel that he wasn't really given a chance to prove himself with us

QPR may well be paying some kind of loan fee, seems to be the way lots of clubs work nowadaysBOYSIE31 wrote:Bye bye to any cash - should have sold him

Just stop, Boysie doesn't understand how clubs finances work, you're wasting your time.Vegas Claret wrote:QPR may well be paying some kind of loan fee, seems to be the way lots of clubs work nowadays

Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
The Board really should be asking serious questions of Sean Dyche re Vydra. For a club that claims to do serious homework on its signings, and how players fit into style of play and their general attitude and yet we have £11m of striker sat on the bench. You could say the same about Wells but he was comparatively 'cheap'.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
By the way the QPR side word this loan is that they tried to sign him for nothing and it was only because they were unable to come to an agreement with they player that stopped this happening. Think it was a statement from the infamous Lee HoosVegas Claret wrote:QPR may well be paying some kind of loan fee, seems to be the way lots of clubs work nowadays
So reckon we were happy giving him away as long as a club took over his wages and then the player will have probably wanted 3 or 4 years on a new contract to agree to a full move

Wonder why we didn’t just sit him on our bench last season as opposed to wasting millions on Vydra.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
We could have had Jay Rod last year if we had paid 20 million. So 11 million on Vydra, 10 million on Jay Rod. Saved ourselves a million and had a player stuck in the physio room for a season instead getting splinters pulled out of his bumBillyblah wrote:The Board really should be asking serious questions of Sean Dyche re Vydra. Could be worse I suppose, we could've signed the next Winston Bogarde...Billyblah wrote:The Board really should be asking serious questions of Sean Dyche re Vydra. QPR will obviously be paying his wages and I would not be surprised if they are not paying a loan fee, that seems to be the norm these days.

Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
Didnt we get a bid from Swansa for £2.5m ?
Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
Will the loan have to be reviewed in January or is it written in stone that it is definitely till the end of the season?

Re: ARTICLE: Wells goes back to QPR
Speculated that we did but no evidence of it and, given today's news, very unlikely.Woodleyclaret wrote:Didnt we get a bid from Swansa for £2.5m ?

Has proven to be the expensive waste of time I think 99% of this messageboard thought he would. A really, really bizarre signing.
Good luck to the lad, not his fault we signed him.

Strange signing at best at the time and all who said it were proved right.jedi_master wrote:Has proven to be the expensive waste of time I think 99% of this messageboard thought he would. A really, really bizarre signing.

Vydra on the other hand logical on the face of it. But even stranger with hindsight!
