Weather Warnings

Post by Fretters » Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:51 pm

Looks like a bad one this weekend with rain and strong winds. High sided vehicles such as caravans and lorries shouldn't travel unless absolutely necessary apparently Could this affect our game I wonder? It's a long way for coaches to travel up from Southampton.

Yes, it will mean playing it with the windy conditions making it more difficult.

Gusts could be up to 50 mph, but more likely 40 mph. An inch of rain is forecast. (The forecast I have seen has winds generally about 20 mph. Doesn't mention gale force gusts.)

In other news, the Met office have issued a warning for the months of December, January, February, and March. They say a phenomenon known as "winter" will hit these islands and it could become cold. All people are advised to remain indoors for those months.

Incidentally, how can it ever be "absolutely necessary" for a caravan to travel? They don't transport transplant hearts in caravans, do they?

The forecast on yr.no (a site less given to panics) shows winds of 25 mph on Saturday lunchtime. If we get a bit of winter wind in summer, I doubt the planes will care - they will just pretend it's winter and fly as normal.

Probably! ;)
