Lancs V Yorks t20 Cricket

Post by tybfc » Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:22 pm

Live on Sky tomorrow night at 6.30pm the Roses match starts.

A sell out at the beautiful Emirates Old Trafford could potentially see Lancs secure a quarter final place with a win and Yorkshire at the bottom of the table.

But the weather may have a major part to play in the game although it can be reduced to 5 overs a side to constitute a match and a result.

To bodge and the Yorkies a reminder that Lancs haven't lost a CC or t20 game yet and we are into August.

"Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I'd be inclined
To believe they never would"

Have your ear defenders ready.

The puddings will be doing a rain dance all day, a point could be their best result this season

I’d be amazed if this goes ahead.

Was thinking that myself. Got tickets for tonight but already some of the lads we were going with have bailed out. Is it even worth going?

Currently very sunny in Manchester, i’d be in the garden if the furniture wasn’t so wet from the rain we had earlier. Flooded the M60 again so I decided to work from home. Forecast looks grim though.

Lancs will do all they can to get the game on and umpires more lenient about a bit of rain in the 2020.

Current weather looking towards OT. Hope it stays like this but not holding out too much hope.

Lot of rain overnight, but the drainage is superb so shouldn't cause a problem if it stays dryish.

Expect a weird weather day, it was raining cats and dogs at Clitheroe tip at 10 am, and blazing sunshine by 10.20 am as I left Sainsburys ...

14:25 train from Accrington to Victoria (if it turns up) then a tram to Old Trafford to meet up with flixtonclaret and two Yorkshire fans.

What could possibly go wrong?

I'm not surprised you haven't lost a CC game yet when you're up against Rutland and Pembrokeshire in Div 2.

Big game should it go ahead and no doubt all the Lanky fans well be getting all giddy if you out slog us.

Does anyone know which site you can get a bet on what time the few bitters who travel over will start leaving if things aren't going there way ?

Judging by the fire drill at their hovel once defeat looked on the cards, 7.45pm could a be on the late side

Shouldn’t you still be doing your rain dance? It’s not guaranteed yet....... pretty much last game of the season this isn’t it?

Looking forward to seeing some play, it's great being underdogs against the world's greatest T20 outfit.

We’re not the world’s greatest, that’s more a Yorkshire thing. You might get Cymbals back from the test team shortly, that night help you, unless he’s still sulking.

Just musing here Bodge...... we’ve probably won pretty much the same number of games at Headingley this year as Yarkshire haven’t we?

We're in a very decent position in division 1 thanks.

Looks like you might escape a pounding tonight with the Manc weather doing its worst.

Don't be giving them any stick. They have won one out of eight games.

Good job there is no relegation.
