Ben was the obvious shout for Captain, well deserved.
I thought he was a bit iffy during the start of last season, in the absence of Tom, but how many of our players had bairns last year. By the look of the end of season pitch walk, half the team must have been having sleepless nights.

4 is CB for me - you start at the back (GK) and work your way up the pitch, it's simple!

I started watching in the 70s and I’m fairly certain (but may have to stand corrected) that our centre halves were numbered 5 and 6. I have always know the number 4 to be midfield....

Same here. I think Jim Thompson was number 5, Billy Rodaway 6, they were the centre halves then uwe Noble 4 and Ginger Pele 8 in the centre of midfield.

Number 4 has been used as a (defensive) Midfielders number for years now by most clubs hasn't it?

There were a few times in my opinion where Ben was ripping in to Pope today with absolutely no need apart from his own let downs. For me Ben is better when he concentrates on his own game rather than others
