Bolton Squad Today
Having no money whatsoever, Bolton are having to put out basically a whole squad of apprentices today.
They're probably going to get utterly spanked.
The average age is 18.

Re: Bolton Squad Today
These games are effectively byes for the opposition - Andy Holt got hammered by Bolton fans for saying it last weekend - but it is unfair on those teams that will play them later in the season if they get the chance to strengthen

I hope we've sent some scouts. You never know, one of those players may be bloody good.

Re: Bolton Squad Today
And I can't see how this will be any good for a lot of those youngsters either.
Maybe one or two of them who are physically capable might rise to the challenge but getting beaten week in, week out in front of large crowds won't do anything for their confidence or development. Especially if they're getting physically overrun as well as out-played.
This is going to be a car-crash season for Bolton.
I can see them getting relegated successively.
Their fans have a real job on their hands supporting these kids. If I were a Bolton fan I would vow to go to every game and sing myself hoarse for 90 minutes long to support them.

And it has to be said also, although it's a travesty, it's fairer than what has happened to Accy today who have lost out on a game because of Bury.

Re: Bolton Squad Today
This is getting beyond a joke now,it's time this was sorted one way or the other,it's making a mockery of the EFL.
This is precisely why their's and Bury's situation should have been resolved during the summer, now it's impacting on the rest of the league, and also the EFL Cup in midweek.
I can see another Aldershot and Maidstone scenario where both go under mid-season,and the results are null and void, fortunately it didn't effect the league in 1992,but the places are so tight nowadays, any teams losing points in the latter stages of the season could potentially miss out on promotion/play-off places or equally could be dragged into the relegation mire.
I'm not surprised Andy Holt amongst others isn't impressed by the EFL'S handling of this crisis.

At the same time, it's completely unfair on these boys. It will be an entire season of men against boys for them.

Will they have to field this sort of lineup for the entire season?Rowls wrote:I want Bolton to go down because the club (as a whole) deserve it.

Don't see how they can do otherwise.FactualFrank wrote:Will they have to field this sort of lineup for the entire season?
They literally don't have a pit to poss in. Unless they can convince a Bolton-supporting professional footballer to turn out for them for a pittance then I doubt they can compete with regional lower-leagues for money.
They might be better off going part-time and hoovering up good non-league players of a basis of offering them a chance to prove themselves at a higher level?
They would, at least, not get physically bullied every game which is invariably going to happen to these young boys.

Those names must be made up. It's like someone's just put a pin in a Bronte novel and mashed them together.

Maidstone completed their obligations for the season. And Compared to aldershot they then got completely screwed over as a result.tiger76 wrote:This is getting beyond a joke now,it's time this was sorted one way or the other,it's making a mockery of the EFL.

I want them to be humped because theyre a club that demonstrates more than anyone since Pompey, every nasty greedy corrupt aspect of pro football in Britain.
OK ?

Saw the line up yesterday and couldn't believe who was the sub keeper, his dad has a carpet business just down the road from me. It wasn't long back I was watching my mates lads playing an u13 cricket game in which Luke slapped a few runs. He only finished his GCSEs this summer.
Re: Bolton Squad Today
Number 37 was at Burnley from U8s till released as an U12.
Good luck to all those young lads .

Re: Bolton Squad Today
If Bolton somehow complete the season, it’s a possibility that some these teenagers will have 46 league apps under their belt.
According to wiki, that’ll be one less that what Kevin Long has mustered up in 10 years at Burnley
